A "HUNGARY" Battle: Karpos vs. Mandula

This will be a good Match Up! one of the 3rd 'rounders' to watch.

I will go with Mandula in 3...tuff sets.

Have to agree that Kapros will win this one.
Too good of results beating both Stosur and Petrova.

Shvedova/Dementieva/Vesnina

Laine/Kapros/Garbin/Cetkovska

Yeah they were good results, I am gonna have to stick with the "UPSET" if that is a good choice of word. B/C i think Mandula can do it...she's a little more consistent to me.

On form, Kapros should win, but Mandula has a way of beating the lower-ranked Hungarians when it counts.

Of course I'm a huge Petra fan, but good luck to both

petra should take this. she's more consistent, and she's a tough tough fighter. she just beat maggie, and i think she'll continue in this tournament.

I'm going with Kapros-- I dunno why, I like something about her. I'm not sure if her serve amuses or not , but I like the kiddo. I'd like to see her go far in the tourney

Excellent Aus-Open for the Hungarians. Go for Kapros in 2/3 sets

James, groundstrokes are much over-rated in tennis - I'll go with Mandulam, because she's got the best 'bounce'!

This is really good for Hungarian tennis. At the Sydney Olympics, they sent over a maximum 3 players (at the time) to contest the main draw in singles, and won only 5 or 6 games BETWEEN them! That seemed like such a waste of money for the Hungarian federation. But now that players like Petra Mandula and Aniko Kapros are doing well in Grand Slams, they've redeemed themselves a little. I think Petra will win this encounter.
