I know the tournaments go quite quickly, but new points for every 4th tournament isn't much to ask. Plus, the players that seem to be getting the dcent results are the ones who are constantly changing/modifying their points!!
New world number one, Shahar Peer of Israel takes a second from practicing to take a picture for a fan in Bangalore, India.
Newly crowned world's number one, Shahar Peer arrived in Bangalore with warm welcomes from many. Last week in Dubai, Peer's outstanding 14 match streak came to an end in the finals when she lost to Ioana-Raluca Olaru in three sets. However, an optimistic Peer says that she will concentrate strictly on her tennis this week, especially in doubles.
Press: You face Jessica Moore in round one, any thoughts?
Peer: I'm just going to go out there and play my best and see what happens.
Press: No remarks this week?
Peer: (Laughs) Nope.
Press: What are your plans for this week?
Peer: Definently I want to spend more time with Nathalie (Dechy) and work on our doubles game. I think part of being a great player is knowing how to adjust your game not in just singles, but in doubles as well.
Press: So this week you want the doubles title?
Peer: (Laughs) Well who doesn't? No, I'm just saying I think Nathalie and I need to work on our doubles a little more, maybe we could win but I'm not expecting anything big. I'm just looking for us to improve before we start winning.
Press: Are you excited about Fed Cup?
Peer: Very much, I'm very confident in my team. We're all top 10 players and we've all been having pretty good results lately. So I think we have a good chance to win.
Press: Well thank you very much for your time.
Peer: Anytime, thanks bye.
And here you are, a black unicorn.
Mythical and mystical since the day that you were born.
