Re: Olympics may add mixed doubles in time for London

It was originally announced some time ago: Mixed doubles added to the Olympics 2012

But now they are making the final decision on it...

Yes I thought I remembered reading something about it previously here, but this was a new update (sorry if i should've merged threads!)

Re: Olympics may add mixed doubles in time for London

Well they would obviously want Roger, Nadal, Murray, Williams, Bryans, etc to play. That would be some great teams

Federer/Bascinzky (Schnyder)
Nadal/Martinez Sanchez
Murray/Robson
Bryan/Williams
Bryan/Williams

Could be interesting.

Re: Olympics may add mixed doubles in time for London

I would have killed for mixed to be a sport in Olympics passed.

Sanchez-Vicario/Sanchez-Vicario
Federer/Hingis
Rafter/Molik
Sampras/Williams
Becker/Graf

I mean could you imagine the quality if the top stars all played in the draw?

Re: Olympics may add mixed doubles in time for London

That's stupid. Mixed doubles is only played at the slams, and most of them just play it for fun anyway. And not with fellow country(wo)men.

And it's even more stupid if this kind of events takes the place of traditional events like endurance events in track cycling. Those are among the most beautiful and athletic events in the Olympic games. It would really be a shame to see those go

But everything for the media, I guess

If only I was sure that my head on the door was a dream
