US Open SF: [1] Black/Huber def. [3] Stosur/Stubbs 5-7 6-3 6-1

....At least I think so, the USO site has been very slow today.

Congrats Cara/Liezel! Must have been hard for them to go to sleep last night being a set down but yet again come through as the champions they are to win two sets today. Into their 6th GS Final.

Sam/Rennae Still, great tournament and please continue this through the end of the year.

Nice going Liz and Cara! I guess the rain delay worked in their favor

Stubby/Sammy I hope Stubby will continue to play through 2010

Re: US Open SF: [1] Black/Huber def. [3] Stosur/Stubbs 5-7 6-3 6-1

Couple thoughts on the match. It just seemed like Stosur/Stubbs lacked energy after the delay and coming back the next day. Some good rallies and they had opportunitites but it just came down to a few key points where the weren't able to execute. They are such a good team, they have to win a title sometime during the indoor season. The crowd was surprisingly pro Stosur/Stubbs in that match. If you wanna classify that as a "crowd".

The final is going to be extremely interesting. Obviously Black/Huber vs Williams/Williams is the best of the best going at it in doubles. I have an awkaward feeling about the match just because of what happened with Serena last night, but she seems to have gotten over it. I think Black/Huber where taken by suprise at Wimbledon with the pace of shot and power of Venus & Serena. Plus it was Wimbledon, Grass, and Venus and Serena where 100x better than everyone at the tournament. Their movement, serving, execution was just superior. Nobody was going to beat them. I think Black/Huber will be motivated to erase that performance and this should be a lot more competitive than their Wimbledon matchup. Hopefully Venus can give her knee one last push and be in for a good match. The Sisters are the favorite but I expect a competitive match.

Dave I know you like Huber and I respect her for a player but I think the reason people distaste her is for her on court antics. I watched the entire match and sometimes it's just too much. Her loud screams of "C'mon" all the time could be compared to Ana's "Adje". Her attempted scissor kicks and just the emotion seems so forced. The reaction at the end was a tad bit over the top as well. But it's there first slam final of the year so I guess we should cut them some slack for being excited. Her husband gets so into the matches. Especially when they won she had to give him the signal to tone down.

Well done Cara and Liezel! I could not watch the match unfortunately, but so happy with the result!
Great tournament Rennae and Sam! And very good year for you!

About Liezel being enthousiastic, that's the way she is, and that's probably why they won today as well, she came back for a fight, and put all her energy into it. That's the way she is!

Cara Black - Liezel Huber - Mary Pierce

Chanelle Scheepers - Abigail Spears - Vladka Uhlirova - Mervana Jugic-Salkic - Francesca Schiavone -Tsvetana Pironkova - Lisa Raymond - Sophie Lefèvre...

I wonder if it will be another beatdown from Venus and Serena...

By the way, it was not Liezel's husband, but Cara's!

My fault. So Liezel calmed down her husband?

I was hoping for this victory.

Now Venus and Serena has a much easier task.
