US Open QF: [1] Huber/Bhupathi def. [8] Mattek/Zimonjic 6-4 6-3

Into the semis and yet to drop a set.

There were some fun rallies as expected, Liezel and Mahesh just a bit too solid and stepped it up on the deuce deciding points.

Liezel says she's been looking for the right partner and she thinks she's found him. So I'm guessing this might become a permanent team for 2010. That's fine by me. Mahesh plays extremely high quality mixed doubles, arguably the best of all the ATP guys.

Beth/Nenad still had a good debut tournament. Hope they play some more too.

Mahesh has always changed around partners though. But I love him, and she's quite lucky to have him. I'd play with him any day
Mattek just a bit off today, Nenad had a lot of pressure today.
Hopefully Huber and Mahesh get to the final.

Hantuchova/Sugiyama def. (1) Black/Huber 6-7(0) 6-3 7-6(10) saving SEVEN match points, down 2-5 in the third, and down 2-6 in the third set tiebreak in three hours

Ai Sugiyama. Jie Zheng. Zi Yan. Tamira Paszek.
Yaroslava Shvedova. Nuria&MariaJose. Yung-Jan Chan. Elena Vesnina. Flavia Pennetta.

Mattek/Zimonjic had 3 GPs to make it 5-5 in first set but they choked them away, it's kinda bad considering it's a no-ad match

Congrats Huber/Bhupathi

Very good match, and Mahesh and Liezel were definitely the most solid team, they deserve that win for sure; Nenad really was not in a good day, he's been broken what, twice? So unusual. But Mahesh and Liezel were putting such a pressure at the net, they really played it the right way. Now they play Parrott and Gullickson, probably not the toughest match of their week, even though one never can tell with tennis

Cara Black - Liezel Huber - Mary Pierce

Chanelle Scheepers - Abigail Spears - Vladka Uhlirova - Mervana Jugic-Salkic - Francesca Schiavone -Tsvetana Pironkova - Lisa Raymond - Sophie Lefèvre...
