Mirza/Vandeweghe : New Team for Birmingham

Mirza will be playing with Vandeweghe in Aegon Classic
Shvedova is nursing injury
Its a random team as Both are Forehand Players
But Grass could be deadly with coco serves and Mirza Returns
Last year they also played this event, ended up playing on Hard Courts
Sania is really having a terrible year

Musical doubles partners continues I'll be anxious to see how these two meld together on grass.

Best of luck 🤗

Re: Mirza/Vendeweghe : New Team for Wimbledon

Mirza/Shvedova were listed in the original list but withdrew as a team this week (surely due to Shvedova injury). This looks like a last minute team.

Mirza/Shvedova still listed in Eastbourne & Wimbledon. Vandeweghe will partner Jankovic in Wimbledon.

At the French they seemed to be having a ball on court. Hopefully this time around they can scalp a win or 2

Re: Mirza/Vandeweghe : New Team for Birmingham

I noticed Mirza's ex-partner Bara Strycova is partnering with Lucie Safarova in Birmingham. I wonder why Hingis/Chan decided to play Mallorca (which is only an International level event) instead of Birmingham (which is a Premier level event). Obviously there's more money and points at stake in Birmingham compared to Mallorca.

Mirza/ Vendeweghe Practiced a lot in Roland Garros
There is a very strong chance if they do well here, they can play wimbledon

Re: Mirza/Vandeweghe : New Team for Birmingham

it will not be a good choice .. Mirza needs some one who can finish off points at net. Rosolska could be a good partner for Mirza. Garcia was better hitter with less unforced errors than Coco and a Adv court player. So if Mirza can convince Garica to play wimbledon then it would be much better to play than with any one else. I can see limited number of players are dedicated towards doubles, so obviously Mirza has less number of choices left.

Lmao she's collecting Hingis' scraps. This team will be absolutely terrible - both players with no backhands, no volleys and no touch.

Gossiping really helped them as they played solid in round 1.. Let's see how they will perform in next round as it will be a tough challenge

CoCo is still friendly with Martina . I'm not sure about Sania and Martina.

They won 6/2 6/4 I missed the match, did anyone catch it on stream ? If so, how were their volleys ?
