She will play 60K Andrezieux-Bouthéon: doubles with Mertens plus maybe singles.
After that, St.Petersburg is planned next.

Finally :cheer:
I hope she can find back to the success of last year!!

She has had some serious hip problems. First, she was told that she would not be able to play at all in 2017 and need surgery. Then she tried some new kind of therapy and can now finally praxtise again.
In mid-December, she posted that she could train for 2 hours that day, for the first time in more than two months. No wonder she was in kind of a slump.

Won the first round with Kuncikova (who seems to have split from Stuchla ) in a match tie-breaker by 4-6, 6-1, [11-9].

Glad they won, I am not really surprised by the rusty start.

She has always been horrible with DFs. At one ITF tournament, she reached the singles final, hitting more than 15 DFs in every match

Her first serve used to be quite strong though.

Baby steps for Xenia who got her first win at a Premier tournament today:

(2)Jurak/Knoll def. Kichenok×2 6-3, 4-6, [10-6] :hearts:

QF vs. Flipkens/Vekić or Kerkhove/Marozava. If she finds back to some good rhythm, they should have a chance here!

Sadly not a surprise. The Kichenok twins have been dreadful for quite some time now. They're very much so hot and cold players.. Need to figure something else out. Either go full time with other people.. or try to do the singles thing. Just something different IMO.

Nadiia is on the EL for singles next week in a $60k in Australia.. Wonder what Lyuda is doing.

(2)Jurak/Knoll def. Kerkhove/Marozava 6-4, 6-7(7), [11-9]

Incredibly easy draw to reach a Premier SF but I am so happy for Xenia who is obviously still rusty but back to top 100 doubles level and seems to be quite clutch in tight moments. Very happy for the team! :inlove:

Strong win over Gavrilova/Mladenovic today. :worship:
It's kind of crazy to think that Jurak & Knoll were effectively the top seeds of a premier after the withdrawal of Bertens/Larsson. I still consider the final against Ostapenko/Rosolska as fairly open as neither team has been thoroughly impressive this week.
