[GMT] Board Member Election, 2000-2010. R2

Board Member Election

Round 2

Since the first round of elections did not produce a complete new board, we are not holding a 2nd election.

What does the board do?
Basically they do all the boring stuff of organising the game, running tournaments, checking the scoring is correct, updating the rankings, looking to improve the game and trying to ensure the voting is as fair as possible, etc. Occasionally they also need to make an executive decision on one thing or another.

Who can vote?
Only posters who have taken part in GMT recently, ran a tournament or a duel or are regular voters here (voted more than 2 times) are allowed to vote. You will be sent another PM if you are eligible to vote. Other votes won't be counted.

How to vote!
This time simply select 2 people you would like to vote for in the poll above and post who you have voted for and why in this thread. You must vote for 2 people or your vote won’t be counted.

You have 48 hours to vote.

Vera Zvonareva * Ana Ivanović * Li Na * Laura Robson ......

Re: [GMT] Board Member Election, 2000-2010. R2

1. ArturoAce
Country: USA
Time Online: Roughly 18:00-8:00

Well, to start I have been on GMT for a decent amount of time, so I know the whereabouts, what to avoid, and what not to avoid. I have seen the good and bad of this game, and my application, I hope, will allow me to make this game better and maintain the fun we used to have. Along with this, I wish to use this position as an organizer rather than a principal to implement consequences. This game should not be infested with arguments, cheating, voting mishaps, or retarded arguments over nothing. I know we are all intelligent people, on some level , so please don't take this game down the drain if you are going to be that jerk. If I do not get elected, just please hear the previous part out. I don't want to see this game go in to shackles, and I think I would do a swell job at keeping it where we all want it to be.

2. Caraleede
Name:Cara B.
Country: Australia
Time Online: 5am-10am (More on weekends)

I think I could bring a lot to the Tour and bring the game to new levels. I like to think of myself as a fair judge and I have no problems discussing and making a joint decision with fellow members of a board. I am a part-time secretary so I have to have good organizational skills, but I also like to stay friendly with people and try to make things smoother and more efficient. As a board member I would aspire to bring my own ideas but not change the basis of the game. I would try to emulate previous board members to make myself comfortable in the position before assuming any power and making changes. Also, I would never consider my position one of solitude and always discuss issues with the board before coming to my personal decision. I love to work on a team and I thrive with responsibility, I would love the opportunity to work for a game that I am passionate about and enjoy. Thankyou.

3. Enia
Country: Norway
Time Online: 9am-10pm weekdays (more on weekends)

My timezone is GMT + 1. It might seem as I'm not around a lot if you notice my post count, but I can be more of the lurking kind. Whenever I'm by a computer, I usually check in on this place, so it's hard to put an excact time. I'd say I usually check in several times between 9am-10pm in weekdays at least, maybe sooner/later in weekends. I don't expect to get a lot of votes, if any, but i've got spare time so i'll give it a go. I obviously haven't been around for as long as many of the others have, but I've been around long enough to see what drama and desicions that sometimes need to be made. I don't think I would have a big problem at all with being as unbiased and fair as possible, as I am a pretty honest person and my concience would kill me if I wasn't. Like many others, I really enjoy this game, and I would like to contribute to keeping it that way and keep it as unproblematic as possible. I think communication is an important factor to get the board to work. The board needs to communicate well and need to actually be interested in making the game better for everyone. So if you think I'm suitable to be a part of the board I'd appreciate you vote, but if not, no hard feelings.

4. Heart
Country: Philippines
Time Online: 20:00pm-03:00am (school days) & 15:00pm-23:00pm (non school days)

Well since Stadia is already a board member others may think that we're gonna be online at the same time but we're not:P bcoz im usually online 20:00pm-03:00am (during school days) 15:00pm-23:00pm (during not school days, theyre not on weekends btw). First of all i just one to add myself to the list so there will be more options coz based from the previous nomination it was like 'its either them or him' well i think i would be good board member bcoz i believe that i have good principles and that includes being fair & unbiased. i can be easily be talked to and will be open to everyone's suggestions. and im not easily bad tempered when it comes to heated discussions, im usually calm, i think its really important here in GMT sometimes.

5. Kai.
Country: USA
Time Online: 3-4pm & 9pm-8am

I am applying so the ones that are not on Europe can at least have a Board-member so if there is any "problem"/Q it can be fix/solve, and not wait till the board-members are online... I might not be a good GM but i have some pretty good ideas regarding to the game and to make it better.

6. Marco Tennis
Country: Canada
Time Online: 11am-1pm & 9pm-4am

Along reading these lines, I know what most of you will be thinking: ''How dare you are to even show up.'' You know what I understand your concern. I was probably one of the most ''hated'' graphic maker of this 2009 year, but yet I don't think that makes me a bad person. I have come to understand, that this is just a game and it's about having fun and I want to take part into making sure it's well run and it's the best for everyone. I'm not asking anyone to forgive me, all I want his a second chance . I have proven over my suspension that I was able to lower it up and appreciate all the talent that's expose each and everyday through this game. I think I would make a great board member because I'm often online and I always answer the PM's that are sent to me, whether it's an insult one or a simply a question. Plus like I said I'm willing to change and I think I have proved it. Trust me I know what it is now to be sidelined and I know how hard it feels. Therefore, I think I will be good to make decisions in this regard. I think you learn from your mistake and I see this whole process as a proof to you all that I'm up to this challenge. I'm please and honored that I might be part of this Board Best to all contestants. Sincerely, Marc.

7. Reetard
Country: England
Time Online: 12pm-6pm (sometimes during the night also)

' You all know most of my positives already I had subscribed to National Geographic and made a list of the places that I will never get to visit., I had added Cara and GMT Board to that. Now I want the cross off the later one. Oh and also, I want a kindler and gentler Nation.' Aaad cut.

8. Sexysova
Country: Czech Pepublic
Time Online: 3pm-10pm weekdays; 9am-11pm weekends

Why I applied: Well, I was trying to become a board member every year since I found this great game. I love to manage tournaments, I love all awesome graphics, I simply love this game and already spent a lot of time with this game. I would definitely would like to do more for this game and only being board member can allow me that. What I would improve: That's a really tough question. Well, I would like to improve communication between all players and also improve my own, I like to listen to others' opinions about how to improve something. I would like to run a magazine which was a great idea, would love to have one issue per month, would be awesome. And also many other things but I can't think of any, right now. Also collect all graphics since the beginning of 2010 and the best can be chosen to be posted in magazine issue in particular month. Also I would like to improve my ranking system, I think it's not good we have the same points for everything and as a ranking "manager" I would like to sort this out and make it more interesting. For sure there would be more ideas and suggestions but it usually comes with time. Why you should vote for me: Well, you know, it's only your vote but I would really appreciate it. I think I'm a great manager, I can organize things very well, I'm not competing anymore so I think I can't be biased at all and my opinion has to be mostly only objective. Of course, I like other players more than others but you know, it has to be forgotten when being a board member. I think I'm also online pretty much and from Europe and noone from Europe applied, I'm in the middle between all people who applied. So if you feel I could be the right person to be a board member, VOTE FOR ME!

9. Zvonarevarulz
Country: USA
Time Online: 9am-1pm & 10pm-1am Central time (More on Weekends)

People should vote for me because I'm approachable, unbiased, and organized. I'm not afraid to make tough decisions, and I play by the rules. I've been involved in GMT for a while now, and I know what works, and what doesn’t. I work well in a crisis, and I believe that is an important quality.I was on a team of three people for 9 years, and was also a coach, so I know how to work with a team. As a board member, I would bring ideas to the table to make GMT better, but I don't want to change the foundation of the game. I would listen to what the players have to say, because this is a game and it should be fun for the players. Thank You

Vote now!!!

Oh dang, I voted even before the application 'forms' have been posted

Still, I vote for Arthur and Brad. It makes sense as Arthur is from North America, and Brad represents Europe. I can also see on how they are very much respected in GMT. Also, both are approachable and have been in GMT for a very long time.

Caraleede: For the previous reasons. She is new to the game but yet so interested it's hard to believe she can be biased

Reetard: He is simply the GOAT of GMT. My vote goes to him because....I'm speechless

Caraleede and Enia - both for the same reasons, they are both great individualist - they are not catched by mass psychology, both are from the different parts of the world, both are friendly and I believe they have many pleasant ideas for the game.

Arthur and Enia. Neither of them ever caused any trouble around here and with them added to already chosen Stadia we should have all time zones covered

I won't make, why did I even bother

Cara and Brad, different timezones, both unbiased, both well-organized, could do the best out of all
