I realise this is a long shot, but does anyone have a Photoshop crack/download for Mac? It doesn't have to be the latest version or anything.

Does any one have instructions on how not to lose the quality of the pictures when putting them as an animation on PS CS5?

You always lose quality when you make animations in Photoshop. The main problem is that GIF files can only use 256 colours, so if you make things with gradients, or lots of colour effects they will almost always look kind of faded and crappy.
One way to make animations that look much better is to make them as Flash files. Then you can get the same quality as a JPG file. I mainly use the Flash format to make screensavers, but you can make banners, avatars or whatever you want quite easily (if you then can actually use a Flash file as an avatar on a forum is a different matter). But you can´t make Flash files in Photoshop, so you need to learn a new program to be able to make Flash animations (i use a really old program called Macromedia Flash MX).

Got it! I'll try to have them in Flash format with the program you suggested Thank you very much!
