From Allistair's twitter:
# She's been 100% healthy all year, but is simply not getting any momentum & consistency due to less matchplay, thus the option to play ITF's. 23 minutes ago via web
# @misakrajicek Misa will play in a series of challengers in the US and Europe until the end of the year.
I think it is indeed better for her. She does not get any match rhythm this way. So hopefully this will help her and get some confidence as well. Also it could be a good way for her to earn some points and get closer to the top 100 in the rankings. This year she won the 50k tournament in Charlottesville which earned her 70 points which is more than any other tournament she entered this year.
Positive is ofcourse that she has not had an injury this year and her fitness seems to be improved.
Nick Bolletieri has said in an interview recently:
Misa is a great girl. She works really hard and never complains. But she is too hard on herself. She is a perfectionist. She can play at a high level, but when something goes wrong she starts to think negatively. That is destroying her own game. She needs to understand there is more to tennis than hitting the ball hard. It is also about finesse, changing pace and playing smart.
He also said that it is difficult for him to help Misa at the moment, because he does not know what goes on in her head. But the only way to return to the top is when she finds peace with herself.
