Didn't get/ask a WC, so seeded #1 in Wimbledon qualifying. She drew Eri Hozumi in the first round and is actually playing at the moment. Had a bit of a slow start going down 0-2*, but Kiki is back on track now, leading 3-2*.

thats why its important to play some matches on grass before. it can make that little difference on those important points if you have that bit more confidence . especially for kiki who has much difficulties playing on this surface.
I dont get why she didnt request a wild card and played Rosmalen, rather than a stupid Bundesliga match (which she even lost!). I have to agree with FMD89 that a few matches on grass would have been very useful here.
It's not her favorite surface as she said before, but I think she is better on grass than she thinks she is.
No warm up tournament, so no preperation/adjustment to the grass. Her winning streak at RG made the time between clay and grass a little bit shorter, but then again she still had time to play last week and I don't think she ever was on a ITF/WTA warm up tournament EL to begin with so she had no intentions to play before Wimbledon. Agree with Martao that playing Bundesliga was indeed a bit strange and didn't help.
Such a shame that she couldn't bring the RG form and confidence onto the grass
Not sure where she is playing next. Nothing on her website. Well, they didn't mention Wimbledon Q either
EDIT: looked up Hozumi on the ITF website as I didn't know her. Before RG she was RU at a 50k grass tournament in Japan, and lost in a close match to Gajdosova in a 50k R1 also on grass. Also 2 times 25k RU at a grass tournament in Japan in 2013. She def Bencic in 2 sets in one of those tournaments. So she seems to like playing on grass.
