Now that Richel has made her senior debut in Apeldoorn this week, I think it is time that she gets her own thread.

Richel has had some pretty good results in juniors this year:

Final in Luxembourg G2 (lost to Zarina Diyas)
Winner in Salsomaggiore G2
Winner in Charleroi G1

Some facts:
Birth date: 16 April 1992
Plays right handed (double handed backhand)
Favourite surface: hard, clay
Current ITF juniors ranking: 21 (08.06.09)
Career high ITF juniors ranking: 18 (01.06.09)

Today she lost 3-6 4-6 in the quarters against Bibiane. But a great debut with 2 wins over top 500 players :)

Yes, she has a good year so far. Hopefully she will play Alkmaar and gets a WC for that. She WD from Roehampton, so maybe...
There are few more tournaments in Holland this summer. So if she does well at 2 more tournaments she could have a WTA ranking by the end of the summer.

I'm thinking about going to a 10k or maybe Alphen a/d Rijn. I have never been to these tournaments, but it seems like a nice way to see some Dutch players.

OT: :wavey: Sarah, you have moved to Holland now right? I hope you like it here! :D

Maybe Richel is going to get a WC for Rotterdam and that's why she pulled out of Roehampton. Pity for me because I was planning to go watch her at Roehampton. But you should go - all the tourneys are free, and it's pretty relaxed. Not many people around usually.

Yeah I moved to NL, but it's my 9th time here, so I already knew I like it otherwise I wouldn't move here. ;)

Richel won her 1st singles title in Alkmaar :bounce:

She defeated Bianca Botto (PER, 3) (WTA: 393) 7-6 6-3

Don't know the doubles result. They stopped updating the website. No scores of yesterday have been added to the website so far.

A great seniors debut for her with some really good wins in both tournaments. Now she can rest and prepare for Wimbledon.

She needs just one more tournament to score a WTA point and she will earn her first ranking. There are a few good tournaments for her at the end of August/beginning of September in Holland: Enschede (10k), Almere (10k) & Alphen a/d Rijn (25k). Hopefully she will play here. Maybe I will go and watch. But that's all close or in the same week as the US Open which starts 6 September. Interesting to see what her schedule will be.

they lost the doubles final in a terrible supertiebreak: 10-2

next up is gonna be wimbledon-juniors. and i think after that she will be playing some hard court season in the USA. But maybe the plans changed a bit after her great debut :)
at least she still has the 100K qualies wc in october ;)

oh and guys, I know SHE does not care, but come on, show her some respect, stop posting pictures from her hyves :p
