Hello! I finally remembered the name of this player I saw in the Orange Bowl last year  :spit:
Her name is Lesley Kerkhove. I was pretty impressed from what I saw. Big groundstrokes and a big serve. Needs a bit of consistency. I don't really know what potential she has but didn't see a cheering thread for her so here it is!
Lesley lost 36 16 in the QF of 25k Altenkirchen, she didn't play that well throughout the week with tough wins over Ozgen and Kalinina but still managed to get victories
This week she's playing 50k Saint-Petersburg and she beat Marta Sirotkina 36 64 62 which is a good win for sure Again losing the first set though
Lost 36 64 06 to Sasnovich in R2 today Don't really know what to think of this win, Sasnovich is not in great form recently but she is an indoor GOAT...
Well now she has! she beat Zanevska 75 63 down 02 in both sets and also saved a setpoint in the first set. Great win for Lesley and this single win earned her 13 points good follow up after beating Kania 2 weeks ago
(5)Mathilde Johansson (FRA) v (wc)Cristiana Ferrando (ITA)
Sofiya Kovalets (UKR) v (Q)Anne Schaefer (GER)
Maria Sakkari (GRE) v (wc)Anna Korzeniak (POL) (3)Lesley Kerkhove (NED) v Tereza Martincova (CZE)
Angstgegner? You mean the 1-4 H2H?
That doesn't make sense to me. First off, most of the matches are from a few years back and the matches on clay were all really close. Also she won the last one!
I'd say she has a good chance.
Lesley is 4 OUT of Roland Garros Q, looks like she's just gonna miss out
She has improved her ranking now to 197, So hopefully she can play Q for Wimbledon. I don't know when the cut-off is, but if she can maintain this ranking she should get in.
I believe the cutoff is next week And she'll be around 200, should be enough. (Wimbledon cutoff is usually a bit easier than RG due to ITF clay lovers skipping it)
