Re: Chayenne Ewijk

Chayenne won: 6-7 6-4 6-3 after 2h45
For a place in the MD she will meet Tzipora Obziler (ISR, 179).

Yes!! So happy she won!! She did what she had to do here. Now nothing to lose against Obziler. Hopefully she can surprise but it will be very hard.

Earlier? I posted as soon as I got to work and came online. I never check the net at home in the mornings on weekdays - don't have time

But it'd be fantastic if she could make the MD - make the trip there totally worthwhile (even though it already is so).

Re: Chayenne Ewijk

What's Chayenne's game like? I don't really know much about her, but I know more about Obziler. Obziler is 35, turning 36 in April. All Chayenne has to do is make Tzipi run. I've seen Tzipi on youtube in a fed cup match against Chakvetadze last February, and Anna just kept making her run until she won the point. Tzipi got really tired out there. If Chayenne can make her run, the match is hers

Daniilidou. Venus. Azarenka. Halep. Wickmayer.
Cornet. Ivanovic. Vesnina.. Vaidisova. Krajicek.
Paszek. Begu. Cirstea. Lisicki. Pavlyuchenkova.
Pironkova. Stephens. Tatishvili. McHale. Flipkens.
Grammatikopoulou ~ Papamichail ~ Sakkari
I'm obsessed with the Greek players. Deal with it.

Re: Chayenne Ewijk

I saw Tsipi last week in Fed Cup against Ukrainian girls, though it was not clay but a hard court, but anyway I could say that Tsipi is in quite a good form (despite two losses in Kharkov)...

though I still hope that Chayenne would be able to beat her

Re: Chayenne Ewijk

I haven't seen Chayenne play for 2 years now ( ) so I don't wanna comment on her game, coz I dunno how much (I assume she has) she has changed it.

The match against Ukraine was on hard courts. I just saw a youtube video of her at the French Open against Venus Williams, and Tzipi is okay on clay. She's not great, not horrible either. She is just average on clay.

Also, I found this video just now of Chayenne. I don't know if it's been posted here yet.

Re: Chayenne Ewijk

Yeah, it has been - and it's 1.5 years old now, and well you can't really see much in it.

Re: Chayenne Ewijk

Chayenne - Obziler is first match on court 4 today starting at 10.00 (16.00 Dutch time). Hopefully the live scoring of this match will be better than Chayenne's match yesterday where we only got an scoring update every 10-15 minutes (which was rather nerve-wrecking ). On all the other courts it seemed to be working fine though.
This will be a very tough match for Chayenne. Fingers crossed!
