I miscalculated

But I agree with you Gabriel that Roby should break Top 100 here. She's got clay court specialist Nuria Llagostera next and Roby should prevail on her favorite surface to gain a qualifier spot in the main draw. Even if she loses I would anticipate someone will withdraw and she'd get in as a Lucky Loser anyways.

I hope you're wrong about Silvia and Francesca. I think quarterfinals are a long shot (although last year Silvia certainly surprised) but third and fourth rounds are more realisitc goals on this surface.

I'm really excited about Roby though. Her wins last week over quality opponents prove she's got the mettle to play with the top players especially on the lawn where she can utilize her net prowess and slice to her advantage.

Forza Roberta!!!

Well Roby will have to hope for a lucky loser spot. She melted after being up 6-2, 4-2 to lose 6-2, 6-7(2), 1-6.

From following the scoring thread it looked like she had two or three match points in the second but couldn't close, the second match in row she's been up mps but lost (previous was to Anne Kremer in Birmingham). It's odd because she came from mp down to beat Nathalie Dechy the match before that.

Not to wish injury on anyone but I hope a singles spot opens up for her. I really think she can win a couple main draw matches here if she relaxes instead of getting tight when the matches wind down.

She teams with Emmanuelle in doubles as the 16th seeds.

Doesnt look like a spot is opening up, as there are no last minute withdrawls...

Of all the friggin tournaments you'd think one of the 128 players would have withdrawn.

Roby made it to the 3rd Round of the doubles at Wimby with Emmanuelle losing a tough three setter to the vaunted Russian team of Elena L and Sveta in three sets.

Not sure if Roby is playing in the US yet or waiting until after Palermo?

Anyways Roby will be playing doubles in the Olympics with Tathiana! I love this team!

Roby will play Palermo, I guess...she should get in the MD with her ranking.

I would love to see her entering steadily the top 100 in singles and top 20 in doubles by the end of the year. I really believe she can still improve her game by 30% and rise in the rankings, she has a potential to be at least top 50 in singles, but she needs to work a lot...hopefully Sandrine and Vittorio will stick with her and help her ....Roby seems lost without them at her side

Mexico is my house, Italy is my heart....

omg I'm still thinking of when she lost to Nuria in last round of Wimbledon Quallies, Roberta could have done so well , and at this time, could have directly been in US Open Qualiie

Roby is now playing in Modena 75K challenger and she came from behind to win her first round match against Eva Birnerova 5-7,7-5,6-1. Another Ova awaits (Pastikova).

Roby lost a tough first rounder to Denisa Chladkova 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in Stockholm. Still a good showing and she's holding at #100.

Now go win the doubles!!!

Roby had to withdraw from her doubles match today due to a right foot injury (plantar fascitis).

I hope she'll be ok to play in Athens and New York
