No, they'll be playing some time in mid-July. Apparently we'll be getting Venus/Hingis again.

It'll be perfect for her though since she'll most likely not enter any events between Wimbledon and the Olympics. ~1.5 weeks off after Wimbledon, 2 nights of WTT, then another ~1.5 weeks off before going back to London. Sounds ideal. WTT was only a disaster back when she actually played a full summer schedule.

Re: Queen Venus' chat thread: Volume 2 :D

She has been a WTT regular since 2005, which coincidentally was the start of her lack of play during the summer hardcourt season.

But Venus should rest after Wimbledon. Stanford and San Diego are immediately after Wimbledon. Olympics and Cincy are a wise schedule. I'd rather she stop playing WTT; 8 times is enough while being an active top player. Play this stupid shit when you're retired.

Venus is gonna play what she wishes, the sooner one realizes the better off they'll be.

I watched four episodes of Venus and Serena For real, it brought back so many memories. It's sad Serena and Jackie's friendship did not last after they broke up, Jackie seemed to be so close to the family. Venus' ex Davide had me cracking up when he was like " the club was ghetto and on a scale from one to ten the club was a 10 in terms of being ghetto."

I can't believe it's been ten years since V starr interiors opened. I checked the V starr' website and saw that Venus has seven employees now and has done several projects for various universities.

Looking back it is amazing that she had the mind set to start her company long before she retires as most people were thinking she should do this after retirement. She seem to be very good at multi tasking. Playing professional tennis, managing a company, introducing your own line and also studying.

OMG, tennis is such a bore without her. I'm justing hoping she is able to play Miami because it has been too long not seeing her on the courts.

In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the SILENCE OF OUR FRIENDS. MLK

Re: Queen Venus' chat thread: Volume 2 :D

How times change, Plank... I remember when we had Venus, Serena, Jankovic, Ivanovic, Dementieva, Safina, Wozniacki in the making and Radwanska all fighting in the top 10.

Anyway, I just finished reading ASV's new book. She mentions Venus once in the book. ( translated by me )

"My participation (in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games) ended in the quarterfinals when I lost to Venus Williams. I played a good match, but at the end it slipped away from me and I had to settle with an Olympic Diploma. Nevertheless, I still have the memory of a great encounter, and, above all, of the support that I received from Prince Felipe, who was cheering for me during all the match. It is something that I retain in my mind like a special ending to a participation that I already considered to be the last of my career."

What points does Dinara have?

What a shame for Vee to be next to Safina, can't wait for her to be back to the top of the rankings
