Do you think Venus should play a warm up tournament for Wimbledon

I wish Venus would play in Birmingham or Eastbourne she is so good on Grass she should definitely play a tournament before Wimbledon.

With her ailments it's probably best just to rest. She had some good momentum at RG so that should help give her some confidence going into SW19. I do wish the grass season was longer, though, so she could play a couple more tournaments on the surface she loves so much.

Vee does not like the rain. Write it down!



I think getting some practice in on a grass court in Florida would be good enough practice. Venus was rather funny there, not even remembering Nicklaus's grass court.

Wasn't there a receipt somewhere where Vee said she liked the rain because during the rain it was when she could rest during her childhood while practicing with Richard so she felt peaceful?

Anyway, as much as I'd love to see her play, she'd better rest that right elbow and hip and come slaying at Wimbledon . She always did that in the past too unless she had little to almost no match play (ala Eastbourne 2011) so...
