Re: Miami 2012

Losing to Wicky isn't really a good thing indeed...
Fingers crossed for the ankle...

Re: Miami 2012

I can barely take Kim losing to Wickmayer, but being injured again sucks big time

Re: Miami 2012

I (unfortunately) got to see the end of the match. Kim was definitely injured. She could not push off so she was kind of slapping her shots in. Also resulted in some poor serving. The looks from her box said it all. Really, really disappointing. I worry to no end how injuries like these can hurt Kim's spirit.

Looks like she won't be ranked for Roland Garros.

Re: Miami 2012

I wonder if it's the same ankle, or a new injury and if she got in during the match or already before it...

this is so depressing!

Re: Miami 2012

Well from what I saw (granted not too much) she couldn't move for the angles or push off on her serve. She had a real look of resignation. I think her box's reaction was most telling. Everyone just looked bummed. Not really loud cheers or encouragement. Ugh... Really unfortunate.

Re: Miami 2012

Always seems to be the injuries that are derailing Kim's progress
Even she said herself she was below 50% at her best today according to the article I read on the WTA website.

Hoping she makes a quick recovery soon & gets healthy for Roland Garros

Re: Miami 2012

"Yanina definitely started off much better and was more consistent throughout the two sets, and I wasn't," Clijsters said. "It was still close. In a way it's a little bit frustrating knowing you're playing not even 50% but it's still close. On one hand you're like, 'Ah, I could have beaten her.' But she played well today.

"I did feel she was getting nervous to finish off the match as well, so I had a few opportunities to get back into it and maybe win that second set."
