Re: Interesting Articles/News about Justine

She just can't get over the fact that she was thoroughly and repeatedly outclassed by such a cute and small girl.

Well, it shows their true colours. I just don't think a commentator should be allowed to be tht blatantly personal. I've listened to Lindsay @ Wimbledon. In almost every match she commented on (I'm not kidding) she tried to tarnish Ju's personality. In one match she even said that the medical timeout during AO 2003 was blatant cheating by Ju
Don't think I have listened her cpmmentating. I agree that a commentator shouldn't that baised toward a player. She didn't like Justine when Ju was still playing, so she hasn't changed. But regardless how much she said, Justine has achieved a lot more and was more talented, a player a lot of young players looking up to.

Just happen to come across this.

Tennis Stories 01 Dec 2013 - 12:49 / by Vishal Gajaria / reads 1979.

Top Romanian female tennis player, Simona Halep, said that she grew up watching Justine Henine play, and that's the reason why she idolizes her.

"Id love to play against Justine Henine," she expressed. "We are a similar size and I liked her style because she was playing very aggressively and she moved very well around the court. Ive tried to take a few things from her and apply them to my game.

"Henine was my idol, and also Andrei Pavel from my country, Romania. I also like Roger Federer but hes not my idol!"

The Women's Tennis Association recently crowned Halep as the 'Most Improved Player of the Year,' for winning 6 titles and peaking to her career-high ranking of number 11 in the world.

Re: Interesting Articles/News about Justine

thx for the articles
She looks good with the long hair, I think. Not everyone does, but it suits her, I like it better than the short hair.

Re: Interesting Articles/News about Justine

Ju's professionalism off the court has extended to her conduct off the court. She seems to be gaining more and more solid footing in the business arena in her country, and also in diplomacy. You could never tell she was a tennis player by the way she conducts her self; so professional, and royal. Proud of her even more.

Re: Interesting Articles/News about Justine

Justine talked to the tennis press in Belgium yesterday.
Says she never felt happier. Doesn't miss being on the court. Started following tennis closer again, because of her commentating for RG (in France).
Hit a few balls with some journalists.
Not sure you guys (outside of Belgium) are able to watch the clips (of her playing on clay! )

That link works in the US. Thanks!

Though I have to say that I watched it because I miss sliding on clay. (She doesn't slide, BTW. Doesn't have to.)

I browse once in a while.

Welcome!

Even the tiny little bit of sliding (towards her forehand, to reply with a dropshot ) proves that peak Justine > peak anyone else on clay

Re: Interesting Articles/News about Justine

LOL. So funny I was looking forward to seeing the sliding and was a little surprised it didn't feature much. lol Thanks for the link. I did read that article a few days ago. She will also be commentating for BBC at Wimby?

She looked ready to win RG, and that hot pink shirt looked good on her; nice color.

Re: Interesting Articles/News about Justine

Haven't been on for ages and thought I would take a look.

Didn't know she got married! Thanks for letting us know. Any pictures?

Didn't know she was going to commentate at Wimby either so just googled and she is going to commentate on BBC radio, not sure about TV. Thinking about it though it probably won't be TV because a certain Lynsey Davenport normally gets involved so could be interesting. Actually, hope it does happen, imagine them 2 in a commentary box! Lynsey would have to pretend to be nice (lol)
