Arrow Czech Republic Cheering Thread

Singles:
Nicole VAIDISOVA (CZE)
Lucie SAFAROVA (CZE)
Iveta BENESOVA (CZE)
Klara ZAKOPALOVA (CZE)

Doubles:
Iveta BENESOVA/Nicole VAIDISOVA (CZE)
Petra KVITOVA/Lucie SAFAROVA (CZE)

I expect Iveta and perhaps Nicole will be the only ones with a chance to win a match in singles, if they are given relatively easy first round opponents. As long as the doubles teams stay away from the Americans, Russians, and Spaniards they should be fine. Not many strong doubles teams.

We will know the draw Thursday, I think I read. Good luck to all of them

2016 Titles:
Tennis Tipping: (S) ITF Toronto | (D) Dalian (w/ Nottheone), ITF Bendigo (w/ Randy)
Suicide: Strasbourg, Tashkent, Hong Kong

Re: Czech Republic Cheering Thread

Only a total nutcase can support this team...nothing against the players, but Safarova/Kvitova in doubles...that is ridiculous...you have Kveta/Vladka..they would be seeded #2! Great job...

I suspect this cheering thread won't live long.
Anyway I should wish them good luck, so good luck. Not that it will help.

Re: Czech Republic Cheering Thread

Very odd choices for doubles teams, especially Kvitova/Safarova- Kvitova having never won a tour doubles match and ranked 826 in the world, and Safarova with just the 1 final to her name, which was reached by a w/o. In fact, Benesova is the only competent doubles player on the Czech team.

Hlavackova/Hradecka have won 2 titles this year. There is also Hrdinova/Uhlirova who have reached 2 Tier II finals this year. If not them, world number 3 Peschke could partner any player.

Still, good luck to them.

Re: Czech Republic Cheering Thread

1R: Vaidisova vs. [15] Cornet
1R: Benesova vs. Mirza
1R: Zakopalova vs. Llagostera Vives
1R: Safarova vs. Golovin

1R: Benesova/Vaidisova vs. [2] S.Williams/V.Williams
1R: Kvitova/Safarova vs. Stosur/Stubbs

I can't wait to see how many games they win collectively in doubles.
Singles might not be too bad if Iveta and Lucie can at least get a few balls in court. Nicole has no chance.

Good luck Czechs.

I can't believe I missed her. She was not on the entry list when I looked at where they grouped them into countries so I did not look for her on the draw. Sorry about that, she is added now.
