Caroline Wozniacki- Possible Champion Of Bad Gastein?

Taking a good look at the field, one would have to wonder.

I look at the field, even the #1 and #2 seeds, Agnes Szavay and Alize Cornet respectively, and see a very good chance for Caroline to take the title. She is playing extremely well, and she has a good overall game. Agnes is struggling currently, losing in the first round of Budapest, and really barely showing contest in that loss. Alize Cornet is doing well however, and coming off of a seemingly un-contested title run. Still, I thihk that Caroline has enough in her to take this title. Her first round may be tough, and there may be a slight chance, of a slight upset. But I do like her chances, and I am going to be here supporting her all the way. I am open to all opinions, but not personal attacks. So if you are thinking about posting and attacking me, think again. Feel free to post openly, Caro fans. : )

It could be possible. Wozniacki is worthy of a first title and its a surprise she hasn't won a smaller tour title yet. However winning here will be tough - she could face Palermo finalist Korytseva in the second round, the potential of meeting Sprem (who reached Budapest semi finals) or Bogata winner Llagostera Vives in the quarters and then possibly Budapest winner Cornet in the semi-final. It will be tough as she is facing some very inform players on clay at the moment.

That is all true, and perhaps I didn't think about all of that yet. I do think that there will be some trouble, but I think that as long as she can stay focused ,and keep the title in her dreams and thoughts, she can make a really big run for it. She has beaten Kuznetosva, who is #4 in the world, and she should keep that in mind. Yes, her possible opponents are doing well, but she should keep in mind that if she can beat a TRop 4 player, that she can beat them as well. I am a firm believer that for anyone, anything is possible, and that only they can control their fate; and that is the same with Caroline. No one person but she can control her destiny, and only she knows if she can take this title or not. I think she can, but there will be challenges. Koryttseva, and Cornet will both undoubtebly be trouble, as well as Sprem if Sprem can contine to excel on Clay. But she does have the game; it's just a matter of how she uses it.

I has to answer No to that question as she likely won't beat Mariya K. or even Vives...she's not that good on clay.

It more likely her first title will be on hard in Slovenia or Sweden upcoming tournamnents.

That is true. But. . . Who knows. I just hope that she does well.

I think that Koryttseva might be a little fatigued, and maybe Vives won't "have Caro's number". I don't think that people are giving Caroline a fair enough chance. She did beat Kuznetsova. And although it wasn't on clay, she did beat her, and Kuznetsova is a clay court giant. Not to mention, she plays the clay court style on every surface, not just clay. So maybe Caro can do it. Maybe I'm crazy; I just want to see Caro take a title.

We can see after her possible 2rd round win. She did beat Sveta, but it was mainly a tank job from Sveta she did well on Wimby the week after.

But I look forward to see how good Caro can play on clay here in Bad Gastein! Go Caro! Hope the rain stay away tomorrow!

Yes, it's a somewhat weak event but Wozniacki nonetheless has a tough draw - particularly considering clay isn't her best surface. If this was played on hardcourts or grass, she'd have a much better shot at a title.
