Hantuchova opens Slovakia's Fed Cup defence against Germany
Bratislava, April 15
World number nine Daniela Hantuchova will lead Slovakia's Fed Cup defence against Germany in the first round in Ettenheim, Germany from April 26-27.
Hantuchova spearheaded her team to the 2002 Fed Cup trophy when they became the ninth country to win the title with a 3-1 victory over Spain.
Team captain Tomas Malik confirmed their lineup as 60th-ranked Henrieta Nagyova, Lubomira Kurhajcova, ranked 109th, and Eva Fislova, 130th, but added that world number 58 Janette Husarova had to withdraw because of a knee injury.
This is the third meeting between the two nations with Germany having won both previous ties.
Yes, she looks very pretty in it. Having said that, she'd look very pretty in a potato sack. She's very fashion conscious as she says in 'Ace', quote - " I'm very interested in fashion. I wouldn't mind modelling again. It's nice when you hear people talking about the off-court stuff, as long as they talk about my tennis just as much. It's a balance".
Well team, I think we've got the balance just right.
Can anyone think of an occasion when Dani had a fashion nightmare? I can't.
Uh oh, Husarova is out. I just hope she gets back from the injury if ever they cross the First Round which I think they can win. She was really instrumental in last year's Fed Cup and Dani's gonna have her hands full if she's not there.
