Daniela is top ALT atp AO Q. Based on her last social media post, looks like she sin an English speaking country and the timing suggests a time zone other than the US or monaco. There are still QWCs to give out, so that could help.
I believe that the Q draw is out tomorrow and play starts on Thursday.
She posted the picture but unsure if she is travelling for Tennis or for business meetings of her brand - as it seems the point of the post.
Fingers crossed.
(3)Kai-Chen Chang v Barbara Haas
Veronika Kudermetova v Sabina Sharipova
Michaella Krajicek v Quirine Lemoine
Daniela Hantuchova v (13)Natalia Vikhlyantseva
1R against Natalia Vikhlyantseva, a 19yo Russian that had a strong end of her season of 2016, with a title on a ITF 100K, a final in another 100K and a SF in a 125K, losing only to Caroline Garcia in a third set tie-break.
It will be difficult as it is going to be an unknown player for Daniela, hopefully she will use her experience to secure a win here.
Vikhlyantseva is one of the tougher draws she could have got... Dani will need a good start to stamp her authority and not let her young opponent believe she has an easy match on her hands.
Honestly if she says she wants to enjoy tennis I would recommend her go to smaller tournaments where she might be having a chance to play more matches and enjoy.
I hope she plays Midland, however, she will most likely face a high ranked player already in R1 and bomb out - as she doesn't have any match rhythm whatsoever.
