Re: US Doubles at Longwood

1935

---------------

The USTA has decided to combine the men's and women's championships at Forest Hills into the same time period. With a busy schedule at the New York Venue they opt to move the ladies doubles to Longwood with the men's doubles and mixed doubles.

This arrangement will last until 1968, when under Open tennis all five championship events move back to Forest Hills. The only exception to this is from 1942 through 1945, when slim men's draws due to World War II allow all five events to be at Forest Hills.
