Yeah, Japanese team cancelled all hotel reservations until thursday. I think we won't get to see much tennis this weekend

I read on the Swedish Feds. website, they can delay play and play Monday and Tuesday if needed... Maybe the same in other Ties...

Tho some players (Yurika & Rika) are supposed to go back to Japan to play ITF, that may be a good idea!
I know some players left for Europe today...so maybe some flights are back on schedule??

Go! Trojans!

Re: World Group II play-offs: Japan vs Slovenia

Slovene players for the first day are Hercog and Srebotnik. Srebotnik is sure to play the other day as well, Hercog might be replaced by either Zec or Majeric. Zec and Majeric are likely to play doubles if the tie is decided after singles matches.

If Japanese players don't show up in Slovenia until friday 12AM, they automatically lose the tie.

Re: World Group II play-offs: Japan vs Slovenia

Team Japan is leaving for Slovenia on Thursday... I guess they are arriving there on Friday or early Saturday??
The team can not bring everybody in the team... Japan has been requesting to start the tie a bit later... but seems like the site supervisor decides to start on Saturday. Kimiko is not happy... We'll see how this one goes!!

Go! Japan!!

Go! Trojans!

Re: World Group II play-offs: Japan vs Slovenia

The organisers have until tomorrow morning to finish the court. They were supposed to be done by the start of the week, but it all went wrong and it is not in playable state. Luckily the weather has been great so far, so our team was able to practice outside.

No.

Re: World Group II play-offs: Japan vs Slovenia

I heard the starting time is just delayed... but the matches will be on Sat/Sun.
Team Japan will only have a head coach, players and one trainer on this trip... they only have less than 48 hours before the match...bummer...

Go! Trojans!

I don't why is Srebotnik our first player. She was/is in worse form as Hercog and I'm not even sure she is better than Zec Peškirič at moment (at least in singles). Strange desicion, I think.

Rampre – Hercog – Kvitova – Lepchenko – Date Krumm – Kerber – Mattek-Sands – Hsieh – Cetkovska – Stosur – Kolar – Makarova – Lucic-Baroni - Safarova – Lisicki - Muguruza - Zahlavova Strycova

The airports in Europe was open yesterday so they could have been here before and ithink they could have landed already in Austria on Tuesday (near Slovenia)
