Polish airspace closed until tomorrow. Spaniards won't have much time to get used to taraflex.

Re: World Group II play-offs: Poland vs Spain

Spaniards haven't arrived yet. Team containing 15 people, which flew from Spain through Frankfurt, was supposed to come to Gdańsk-Rębiechowo airport at 5:30 PM on Monday, but all flights were cancelled today - told Katarzyna Posłuszny from Polish Tennis Association - We hope that Spanish team will manage to arrive on Tuesday.

On Tuesday Polish players should come - Agnieszka Radwańska, Marta Domachowska, Klaudia Jans and Alicja Rosolska.

On Tuesday evening we want to get to know the venue and surface and on Wednesday we'll start normal trainings. We think that three days of trainings will be enough to get prepared. The majority of our team will come to Sopot from Warsaw. Only Agnieszka and her father will come by plane from Kraków. If flights are cancelled tomorrow, Isia should arrive on Wednesday morning which won't destroy our training programme - told Tomasz Wiktorowski, Polish captain.

Meanwhile in Sopot, everything is ready to host the players. In the venue of the match - The hall of Sopot Tennis Club, locker rooms were renewed and the new court was installed. On Saturday the floor was delivered from Olivia Hall of Gdańsk (it was used by Asseco Prokom basketball players) and Taraflex surface was laid on it.

On 24th April (Saturday) two singles matches will be played, on Sunday two singles and deciding doubles.

Its seem some country's open the air space.

Quote:
Germany and Italy have extended flight restrictions until 6pm - Italy this morning briefly reopened its airspace in the north only to shut it a short time later.

Denmark said it was opening its airspace above 35,500ft while the Czech Republic said its airspace would be open for 48 hours.

The ash cloud is expected to hit the east coast of the US at 6pm.

Spaniards in the clouds

Eyjafjöll. This is a name of Icelandic volcano which still produce an ash. It becomes quickly a hero of the Poland - Spain match. Aeroplanes don't fly in Europe and we are not sure if Spanish players will manage to arrive to Sopot. According to Royal Spanish Tennis Association they will come but we found out they considered postponing the match. But they told us they will definitely arrive on time. Poles are arriving. Klaudia Jans was first on Monday, on Tuesday Marta Domachowska and Alicja Rosolska came to Sopot. The three players will train in the afternoon with the captain Tomasz Wiktorowski. Agnieszka Radwańska is due to come on Wednesday morning as she has to travel from Kraków to Sopot by train because of the volcanic ash. In the hall there's already made a taraflex court. The renewed locker room is waiting for the players. A show-case with cups and diplomas scored by the players of Sopot Tennis Club has been put there. We hope it will inspire Polish players and will depress Spaniards. The captain Tomasz Wiktorowski told us that Polish team will play their matches wearing black palls.

Spanish team should be in Poland by now. In the end they travelled to Poland via Vienna and Berlin. Then a charter flight to Gdansk. They will start their trainings tomorrow.
