Next up is Cibulkova. I hope some miracle happens so I will get that match against Serena....
You got it. Greta won a marathon match 10-8 in the third, as you requested.

Re: Greta Arn

She really did it, I am so happy.

Being a fan of her since her three-setter against Lindsay in Melbourne in 2001, she's back. Again against the American number 1 on prolly Center Court.

After 12 years of ups and downs this is where she'll now play one of the most meaningful matches of her career.

I am so happy for her, she is such a fighter. On and off court.

Go out there and enjoy the show, Greta.

Re: Greta Arn

To kinda my surprise, Greta is in Paris qualies. Didn't expect that a week before going over to Latin America.

Quote:

Irena Pavlovic (FRA) v Severine Beltrame (FRA)
Giulia Gatto-Monticone (ITA) v Garbine Muguruza Blanco (ESP)
(wc)Jessica Ginier (FRA) v (5)Nina Bratchikova (RUS)
Good luck then.

Re: Greta Arn

QR1: Greta def. Georges 4-6, 6-4, 7-5
QR2: Greta def. Bremond 7-6, 6-3

Next up: Muguruza Blanco

Rusty start after coming back from Australia, I have no idea who her next opponent is, but beating Bratchikova in 2 sets could be considered a warning.

Good luck tomorrow.

Re: Greta Arn

After another no-so-good match against the Spaniard and a 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 win, Greta was drawn to meet Petra Martic in round one. She might face Marion Bartoli in a possible 2nd round clash.

Here we go.

Re: Greta Arn

After an extremely uninspring and boring match, Greta lost 4-6, 4-6

From the first two games on I was so sure that she would not win that match, though she wasn't substantially worse than Martic.

And excuse me, please: what kind of low standard venue ist this hall please? That looked like Kadmudestan Open, $25,000, in a remote place in Central Asia. Wow.

Re: Greta Arn

While I am inconsolable, that Greta did not play Bogota, her next stop is Monterrey. Quarterfinal to defend and I think she might be able to do that.

Quote:
(1)Roberta Vinci (ITA) v Coco Vandeweghe (USA)
Nina Bratchikova (RUS) v Anastasia Pivovarova (RUS)
Alexandra Panova (RUS) v Q
Shuai Zhang (CHN) v (6)Greta Arn (HUN)
Greta lost her only match against Zhang in the Q of Cincinnati in 2 sets.

Vamos, Schätzelein.

Re: Greta Arn

Monterrey R1

Greta def. Zhang 6-1, 6-4

After a complete annihilation in the first set, set #2 was a lot more equal and Greta hat to survive a scare at *5-4 00-40, but she could fight off those 3 BP and win the match.

Next stop: Marina Abramovic. Never heard about her.

Good luck.

Re: Greta Arn

Greta wins 6-4, 6-2 but was far from being sovereign.

9 DF in windy conditions, in front of a completely empty stadium and many UE were not so good.

She needs to raise her game some 2 or 3 levels to pull it thru today against Nina Bratchikova, but I know that she can do it.

Vamos, Schätzelein!
