No problems. If you read my previous posts, it was something that i felt during Paris tournament.

Anyway, she already tried it last year in Brussels and in RG. It didn't work. Hope this time it will work.

Interview in French : http://www.welovetennis.fr/interview...-avec-mon-papa

Next tournaments : Doha, Dubai, IW and Miami.

I guess she forgot Monterrey.

She also said she's not under contract with FFT. She can choose whoever she wants as coach.

Re: Two weeks in France?

I've always supported Marion's right to choose her coach, when people have criticised her for continuing to be coached by her father. Some people think all tennis dads are controlling monsters, or all players coached by their parents are immature, etc. But everyone is different, and I think the player herself knows what works best, more than we the fans.

But since this is her decision, it's exciting news. Maybe she knew that she'd reached her potential with her father, and wondered "can I do better with the right coach?" You can't know the answer until maybe a year later, so it's a big risk late in her career. It shows she wants success at a major very badly.

Today a big article in "le Parisien" printed edition. Lionel Chami, the journalist gave 2 main reasons :
- feeling of routine with her dad
- no improvement in her game (feeling of stagnation)

She explained that physical preparation she followed during winter was the toughest of whole career. And she was probably disappointed enough after her defeat vs Makarova to go toward Momo.

Re: Two weeks in France?

Daddy's girl is leaving home!

I've been thinking their relationship is not very comfortable any more.

It's definitely a good decision.

Not just for her career, but for the rest of her life.

Re: Two weeks in France?

Funny things in l'equipe printed edition. Marion's new situation is more important than fed cup defeat.

I know that Christine Thomas is always very well informed about Marion. But imo, many things are not very clear :
- As she knows dad, she apparently got in touch with him. And he asked for time. Some people guess he's still a bit chocked.
- She has a secret source who's speaking a lot. And this source explains that Marion is going too fast, even for FFT. And she asks for too many things at the same time. That's why fft asked Perrote in emergency to go in Doha With Marion.
- Xavier Moreau who will be new physical trainer has organized physical tests. And his conclusions are that he understands now why she's a top 10 player.

Doha next.

Re: Two weeks in France?

Thanks Lighter. That's really interesting. Maybe the FFT will adopt Walter's training methods? That would be hilarious.

But I hope that she can continue her normal training methods without her father, and the new team will suggest things to improve what she already does well. Like adding a new tennis brain, to give her different strategies for beating players she always struggles with. I worry that somebody new would just say "stop all that nonsense you learnt with your dad, and learn everything again, from the textbook." Which could ruin her game completely.

So I'm relieved to read what Xavier Moreau said.

she had flu with fever last tuesday and wednesday and didn't train. As expected, start was slow : 1-4 and 2-5. And she started to play a better game.

Marion : 7-6 6-3

Next : Kuzzy.
