:cheer: great stuff! never lost belief cus shes fights so hard here. very winneable next match, she should be able to outhit MJMS. she isnt playing as well as she was last year either. 32 wins this year, how many did she win last year again?

hope someone takes out Vika :scared:

34 wins last year.

I can't see Bally taking out Azarenka.

34 only :hysteric: My god. I knew it wasnt a great year but I didnt think it was quite that bad. And we`re not even on the fast hardcourts yet... Well lets just hope Vika loses her head completely against Bally or Marion! hope I didnt jinx Marion there.

Excellent, another win!!! Straight sets is nice, and yet another quarter final this year. Too bad she wont beat Vika. :tears: Im calling it now, Im such a pessimist.

Slightly bitter about Serena taking Marion's top 8 seeding from her but its to be expected I guess! At least shes gonna get Sharapova, Petra, Serena or Fran though, rather than Vika/Caro/Bepa/Na which she'd get in the 13-16 bracket.

on the other hand if she does beat vika chances are very good for her to take her first title of the season

so far in the 3 tournaments vika has lost in since the AO before she reached the final each player that beat her went on to take the title

maria in rome
julia in stuttgart
li at roland garros

There is just so much mental baggage against Azarenka from the last two completed losses:

.Stanford 6-3 3-1* 40-30 and misses a return on break point, or so I read. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I didn't see the match.

.Montreal the four set points in the tie-break- 2 missed returns IIRC

It would be her best victory in a long time if she could some how get the win here, but as you said, Ferg it's very unlikely.

Plus, whilst it's great she's back in the top 10 her record against top 10 players this year is 0-5, not counting the Clijsters win. I hate that stat.

One thing's for sure, she's going to have to serve well, certainly much better than today.

"After last year's full-on US Open schedule, Marion Bartoli say's she plans to reduce her US Open Series from 5 tournaments to 3 this year."

Stanford and the two mandatories then. Not a bad idea, I just thank fuck that shes not playing New Haven. She wont screw herself up for NY like she did last year.

Nope, no coverage on court 1 I think.... Thats what people were saying in the OOP thread.

Fuck yeah!!! I dont care how she did it, its still an amazing result! Terrific serve stats, has finally beaten her, defends her semi here, up to 34 wins, yet another semi this year!!! :cheer:

Sam has just beaten Bepa in a very long match too so this just makes it all better! I really hope she can take Sam out now!

I hate that it had to be retirement but I believe she would have won anyway. Love the way she responded to being down 0-30 in the first game of the second set.

Really hoping for a Marion-Petra final.

Not that I'm gonna lose a lot of sleep over it,but I hope that Vika's WD was mostly precautionary...and that she'll still play Wimbledon...and THAT's where I'd especially prefer to see the Petra:hearts: v.Marion:hearts: final....I'll cheer for Marion mostly because she's not as young as my newest Czech gf;)
