Re: Eastbourne and Wimbledon

be warned! Arn is a lot better than you might think based on her ranking/past results! She has a rly strong serve and hit something like 25 W to 14 UE against Molik and gave the impression that she never even made a mistake!

Re: Eastbourne and Wimbledon

Yeah, that's what I posted on the previous page(post #116)....Arn has these occasional fluke runs where she plays well above her ranking level...and then she drops back to normal. She made the Warsaw semis from qualifying a little over a month ago...and her only title was won when she ran thru qualies, too

PARTY IN THE PANIC ROOM! Serena wins an undoubtedly clean #22

Congrats on Number Three, Kim! We need more of you in this world

Marion wins 6-3 6-4
Not much to be said here, she played solid tennis today and has done the job
Next round against Pironkova or Kulikova..... winnable

So happy to see her back into the 4th round and justifying her seeding.

Re: Eastbourne and Wimbledon

Solid match from Marion. She broke two times like vs Julia.

Imo, she doesn't want to overplay for the moment.

Re: Eastbourne and Wimbledon

Yes, but if she does get to the quarter-finals and plays Venus, she will have to take risks. Otherwise

Re: Eastbourne and Wimbledon

Nice win. Not too great but very solid. Kulikova or Pironkova next, surely Marion should be able to beat both of them... Ill post my fears for a match vs. Venus after her 4th round, cus I dont want to jinx Marion

Oh, and getting to a 4th round is nice, especially here.

Re: Eastbourne and Wimbledon

Kulikova is quite good. She beat Alisa here last year. But Marion has never played her.
3-0 Pironkova.

This is just the sixth time Marion has reached the second week of a major, which makes it even better. And people can talk about cakewalk draws all they want. Marion has beaten Justine, Jelena and Lindsay at the slams, and had to play Kim at the US early on last year.

Re: Eastbourne and Wimbledon

Pironkova takes the first set... I'd prefer Marion to play her because at least Marion knows what to expect and has beaten her everytime they played before, and since Kulikova is very much an unknown quantity.
