Re: From green to red clay

Marion's beaten Hercog in her first round match in Madrid 3-6 6-4 6-4
But that was just horrible to follow on the scoreboard, never again Marion

Thanks for the drama. I know that your mental is strong, but it is hard to support you.

Re: From green to red clay

Mexican TV often shows tournaments from Spain but, unfortunately, this is a joint event...so they'll likely show some men's match between two nobody qualifiers from Fiji and Martinique while ignoring the women's final.I hope to see Marion if she advances far enough....Can't comment too much on her play...not having seen the match...except Hercog made a clay final in Acapulco,so she's no pushover.......Congrats and VAMOS,Marion!!

phewwww Marion!
not easy, but shes through.
AMG or Jie shouldn't be too bad for her, if her return game is on.

Anna Chakvetadze • Venus Williams
• Bartoli • Hantuchova • Schnyder • A.Radwanska • Cibulkova • Szavay • Cornet • S.Williams • Hsieh • Chuang • Medina Garrigues • A.Bondarenko •

Re: From green to red clay

First 3 set-win for Marion.
I've been told she resorted to a time-out in the third, is that true?
Anyway it's quite a good win to beat Polona on clay. This girl is extremely talented and plays with lots of top spin and slice. Marion must feel pretty satisfied. Hope she carries on. Zheng or AMG are pretty beatable.

Re: From green to red clay

Marion won't play for a couple days cuz her opponent hasn't been decided yet.I had the privilege of seeing her sf victory,on TV,over Zheng at Monterrey 2009 as part of her title run there...but she lost their only other encounter, the more recent one...their only meeting on clay.Marion is a dominant 4-0 vs. AMG,but nONE of those have been on clay....Anabel's best surface,probably....I'm not sure what to expect but I'm hoping for greatness.......VAMOS,Marion!!

Re: From green to red clay

26 06.

1 win on clay so far. She hasn't found her rhythm in this season. It's as if she were invisible, either she isn't playing or she loses to every better player than her. In addition she received so many bagels... Completely lost her pride and fighting spirit. It's really a bad season!
I have no idea on how she defeated Hercog. Today she only held her serve once. Never had any GP again. What a humiliation!

We'll see how Warsaw ends up...
French tennis is completely collapsing.

Re: From green to red clay

The next time she should just play International tournaments on clay. No need to embarrass herself in the biggest events.
I don't know in what kind of form she will be for the grass court season. Even her serve is awful and unreliable.

Re: From green to red clay

Medina Garrigues is no joke....She's won several clay-court tournaments in her career...however the scoreline WAS a joke......Marion must at least be more competitive, even on her least-favorite surface.......still adore her, though
