She has lost matches in that fashion, as you say. But I dont see a correlation between that, and her fitness.
I dont want to sound boring by repeating myself
but if we want to talk about results then we should just look at the exponential improvement in her ranking year on year. And the fact that last season was her best so far (despite starting unpromisingly).
I dont consider her injuries the result of a LACK of fitness. But if anything, the result of HYPER-fitness!
What I am saying is that what some people are attributing as fat, is in fact muscle. Muscularity and injury are correlated. And where she has been host to fat cells before, those cells have since been converted to muscle.
Force activities encourages the development of new blood vessels, and actually use fat tissue as the building blocks of muscle tissue. In other words fat is literally converted to muscle.
This is the process I think Marion has underwent. It's a difficult trade off. Muscle bulk has advantages and disadvantages. She seems to be trying to get more power on her serve.
As for back to back consistency. Players of a similar rank go through that. As has been said, it's probably more mental than physical. Although I do think that cold events are better for Marion than hot.
Thanks Iceland for the explanation, and speedy reply
I always find you a thought provoking poster.
