Re: Alexandra Cadantu

1-6 4-6

Still I won't be too harsh on her. She played a lot of tennis those past weeks and seemed clearly exhausted. Maybe got robbed by the line judge as well on a key point that may have turned it around, but even then I don't think she would have survived another 3 set match.

Completely exceeded my expectations for this week. She seems to play much better on hard now.
Only struggles to get some length on her moon balls which is getting easier exposed on this surface, but she is definitely on the right track.

Re: Alexandra Cadantu

it had so much quality in the second set though Svitolina is a really good player on HC, Alex should really be satisfied with this week, now she needs some rest and I am sure she can do very well in the US

Re: Alexandra Cadantu

she tried, but Svitolina run down to them almost always succesfully and slices seemed just to help Elina getting the time for winners...today it wasn't a good idea to use those weapons IMO

Re: Alexandra Cadantu

Guess what, I was doing some channel flipping and noticed Tennis Channel is showing a rerun of her match.
It looks like they banned spectators from there, that stadium is almost empty.

She can't slice and the drop shot of hers is not really reliable. She hit one at the start of the match from behind the baseline, though, which was a world class shot.

I know she is not that good at drop shots but my question is if its worth working on for hard courts. hard courts dont like drop shots because the ball bounces too high. Is it a good tactics at all? Its risky I guess.

Re: Alexandra Cadantu

And this is were Radwanska obviously got her inspiration for the blond wig.

Epic reaction from 1:23 onwards.

She has gone a long way game wise, but her antics never change.
