Re: Alexandra Cadantu (ROM)

She won against Fichman 6-3 7-5!

Nice revenge for the lost final in Plantation at the beginning of the year!

Next round against Voegele or Duque Marino again!

Re: Alexandra Cadantu (ROM)

Against Mariana Duque. So, she should win.

Sharon Fichman's parents are from Deva Ive been there

Such an unusual name for a Romanian though

They are Jewish, like a part of my family. They first emigrated to Israel, but then went on to Canada.

So our names are both not very Romanian!

Bogota 2012 easily, even with her ranking at the moment...

The only thing I still don't dare to think about is that she has a good chance of getting directly into the Australian Open main draw!

She's currently #101 in the Race and should climb even further now! Impossible is nothing...

Re: Alexandra Cadantu (ROM)

i don't think it would be a smart move for her to enter AO MD
anw it sucks that she got the wrong timing for an almost top100 ranking as MM tournaments in autumn are the toughest ones to enter

may your choices reflect your hopes not your fears.

I can't remember any player who has withdrawn from a Grand Slam main draw to play other challengers! It's THE goal for all tennis player of the world to play in a Grand Slam main draw, no matter if they get blasted off the court or not and to consider she has never played a WTA main draw before, it's even more of an honour for her!

Now against Soler Espinosa who is really on fire!

Good luck!

Re: Alexandra Cadantu (ROM)

By the way, with the win today she has overtaken i. e. players like Dushevina, Sevastova and Razzano in the Race!

Re: Alexandra Cadantu (ROM)

Lost in 3 close sets to on fire Soler-Espinosa

But let's hope that this thread is going to be bumped soon:

Which Top 100 player do you know least about?

Re: Alexandra Cadantu (ROM)

$100,000 ITF Saint-Malo:

(4)Laura Pous-Tio (ESP) v Nina Bratchikova (RUS)
Alexandra Cadantu (ROU) v (LL)Catalina Castano (COL)
Elitsa Kostova (BUL) v (LL)Eva Fernandez-Brugues (ESP)
(5)Sorana Cirstea (ROU) v Estrella Cabeza-Candela (ESP)

First round is a must win and she also beat Pous in Biella, so quarterfinal against Sorana can come!
