Re: Alexandra Cadantu

Lost to Errani 2-6 2-6

Only saw parts from the 2nd set and Alexandra of course didn't stand a chance being the main agressor on court, but without consistency or the initial fire power to trouble the Italian who is simply too solid for her.

Still, she had some nice moments and some pretty good rallies. There are certainly worse players in the Top 100 than her. I hope she can keep this up in Bucharest next week.

it's the only video in a good quality of hers...and it shows some of her variety of grunts

Haven't seen this for quite some time, but wow, she has improved her defensive movement by tons.
And she obviously didn't grunt from the start of the match at that time.

Not an easy draw, I say. Burnett can be tricky.

Re: Alexandra Cadantu

Expected.

Alexandra became physically very strong the past months. R2 is winnable as well.

Re: Alexandra Cadantu

Elena already had her one mentally tough match this year yesterday, so it was expected.

7-5 6-1 in the end and QF against Parmentier.

Nice handshake, by the way:

That handshake.
Players friendship at its peak.

Or maybe that photo was taken more time after the handshake. Manipulation.

Re: Alexandra Cadantu

It's the WTA, there are no friendships. especially not with girls from your own team.

Re: Alexandra Cadantu

this ain't true Aaron see Flavia and Gisela or Sara and Roberta
it's just very rare to be best friend with your opponent and most of all it's hard for girls

Re: Alexandra Cadantu

OK, but to qoute Simona Halep:

'We try to get along with each other, but we are more rivals than friends.'

May be different in other countries which could explain why Italy is a successful Fed Cup country while Romania is allowed to play with Luxembourg again.

Re: Alexandra Cadantu

Yes, in individual sports it's certainly harder and also depends a lot on the persons. Some can completely turn off the friendship on court or in the arena and some struggle and therefore don't want to have any closer relation to other people.
