Re: Alexandra Dulgheru!!!

I'm sure Alex was indeed tired. On top of that she really had no time to prepare for this match. And the difference in the conditions in Warsaw to what they were in Paris today were huge. The condition of the court, the heat, adjusting to all that with virtually no time to prepare....not easy.

Now however Alex has a genuine day to rest. A light workout tomorrow to get further used to the courts will probably be all she needs. The great thing about Grand Slams is that the players get a day off between matches, for the women who don't do the 3 out of 5 set thing, this is a huge benefit and means they can enter a Slam event tired but providing the can get through the 1st round, they can recoup as the tournament goes on.

There was a real danger Alex could have lost today but her fighting qualities saw her through. I belive the next match she will be much more prepared to play closer to her best tennis. Alex beat Timea last week and I feel confident she can do it again. Then the tough work begins.....

Agreed. She might have been a bit nervous too, seeing as this was her first FO They were both pretty much on serve until 4-5 in the 2nd I believe.
I believe she will do better against Timea tomorrow.

Good Luck Radwanska Sisters!

Well done, Alexandra!

But more difficult than expected. Alex must be tired.

Hradecka hit 18 Aces!

1st Grand Slam main draw win for Alex.
And first French Open.

R2 again Alex vs Timea.

Serena: "We have great personalities like Jelena (Jankovic) on the tour."
