Re: Alexandra Dulgheru!!!

Back to back straight set wins!

Very important points for her this week and a couple of decent wins against players she will hopefully pass in the rankings in the course of the year.

Pereira looked completely local in that second set, though, and made it quite easy for her.

I guess what he means and what also caught my eye is how Alexandra's movement, especially to the forehand side, still looks gingerly.
She got one maybe even two steps slower on that side, but it will always be enough against players who are not able to push her back into defense consistently.

You are right. I trusted WTA site without checking (big mistake, I know)

Also facing off in Thursday's quarterfinals will be third-seeded Klara Zakopalova and qualifier Alexandra Dulgheru. Zakopalova was a 63 63 winner for the second straight day, this time over qualifier Alizé Lim. Dulgheru beat Brazilian No.1 Teliana Pereira, 75 62, to book her first quarterfinal berth since Miami in March 2011. - See more at: http://www.wtatennis.com/news/articl....6L6CNj50.dpuf

That match against Zvonareva was hilarious Vera only lost 1 point on her serve IIRC.

This match eventually proved to me that something was terribly wrong with her and how right I was.

Yet, she only dropped 5 games against Zakapalova the round before, so maybe good signs for today?

Good start of the match. Great defense! *1-0

Le : Good tennis . *3-0 but it's not Zakopalova's max. form either.

Despite not making many winners, she's still an agressive baseliner, and she doesn't only win matches by waiting the opponent's mistake, though she can do that at times also.

@ tildeloltilde : Yeah : http://www.flashscore.com/match/WI5L...int-by-point;1

I hope that back problem (medical timeout earlier) was just to break the momentum (although her 1st service is weak )

LE: And she withdrew . 3-6 2-5* .
