Re: Irina-Camelia Begu Cheering Thread!

She shows no enthusiasm. It is almost like somebody forces her to play tennis.

She's always been like that, as far as I can remember. I think the only time I saw her more relaxed on court was in a quaterfinal againt Mattek-Sands in Linz last year...

She called the trainer, but I don't know why.

33 UEs after 12 games now.

She's dead all right.

Should only get back on court after some serious therapy. Procrastinating won't solve her problems.

She called the trainer, but I don't know what she was talking with them.

I watched and think that her first serve itself is still there, those shoulder problems seem to be more of an obstacle on her second serve and for the timing of her ground shots, because she can't kick it in anymore as she used to, thus resulting in a shitload of DFs. Not to mention that she is forced to play the first one safer now as she knows that the chances of DFing on the second serve are quite high.

Look at the difference

She was more or less serve botting the whole match with great variety...

I don't know what's wrong with her, I saw her playing doubles and she seems to be not bothered by any injury or anything...she is just a shadow of her own self

may your choices reflect your hopes not your fears.

I meant psychotherapy, not physiotherapy

First serve in: 27/49 (55%)
First serve points won: 9/27 (33%)
Second serve points won: 7/22 (32%)
Double faults: 8

And all these against Yvonne "Nobody" Meusburger.

I have only watched the last 6 or 7 games today as I was watching Simona vs. Pennetta, but from these stats & the little I have seen her serve is worse than ever.

Back in the days when she was winning Tashkent she served 70% or more in and converted more than 75% of the points of her first service. 5 aces against Dokic and only 1 DF. That player is dead, that's what I meant. The 2013 Irina Begu is just an embarrassing shadow.

Re: Irina-Camelia Begu Cheering Thread!

I still think she is hampered. Why should she call the trainer, retire and pull out of so many tournaments. It doesn't need to be visible every time.

When she was playing Radwanska at the AO early this year, the commentator of the match (on German ES) said he had a longer talk with her and her coach in which she said that she is struggling with shoulder problems for quite some time now. Even in the off-season she couldn't train the way she wanted. The problem is that she is actually playing the right shot for most of the time, but just completely fails to execute.

It's no mindless erroring, it's the erroring of someone who has no self-confidence and coherence in her game. It's raw and lacks nuances.

Her 2012 season was basically a flop as well apart from the last 2 months. She got straight setted by Chiara Scholl here last year, just saying. The high altitude coupled with her instability on the serve = mess.
