"I'd go on "Dansez pentru tine" (Dancing with the stars - romanian version)!"
A tennis player, always nice and cheerful, Raluca Olaru (21) loves to sing but she's also doing a great job on the dance floor. Former U.S. Open doubles junior champion in 2006, the player from Bucharest will return on the court in two weeks in New York, where she hopes to achieve a good result.
Click!: Were you a boyish type of girl or a girl who liked to play with dolls, when you were little?
Somewhere in between. I understand from my parents that I always climbed the trees and that I got scratches and bruises all the time. But on the other hand, since the age of five, I really liked to play "the teacher" or "the businesswoman" with my dolls. I was "making money" and trying all sorts of "transactions" (laughs).
What did you want to become when you were little? A princess, a ballerina or a tennis player?
A singer, no doubt. I always liked to sing at home and I always pictured myself on the stage singing in front of a large crowd.
Music is your biggest hobby?
Yes, I sing on any occasion and almost anywhere, perhaps less in the lockerroom (laughs). I occasionally go to karaoke, if I have time. I also like very much to listen to music, it relaxese me.
At the tournament in Linz you made "noise" on the dance floor. Would you like to go on "Dansez pentru tine" (Dancing for you)?
I don't know if I'm that good at dancing, but I would really love to go. Maybe someday I'd go on "Dansez pentru tine" but not now. But I have on my list of priorities to take dancing lessons at the earliest opportunity!
Do you have any tattoos? On what occasion did you made them and what do they symbolize?
Brrr ... I don't have tattoos and I don't want to have. I find it absolutely frightening the image of me at 70 years, with tattoos God knows where...!
What are the qualities that attracts you in a man?
Honesty, humor, family love and children love.
Do you collect something from your tournaments?
I don't collect anything now, but when I was little I had a whole collection of toys from "Kinder Surprise": little trains, little cars and other objects. God, I loved them so much!
Do you know how to cook? What is your specialty?
You got me with this one (laughs). Unfortunately I don't know how to cook and actually I'm not at all attracted to this activity. However I am passionate about the idea of making cakes and I think I can improve in this aspect because my mother is a specialist ...
