Player Of The Week

Ashley Harkleroad

Ash was the only seed who performed last week in Quebec, and by reaching the final she's bagged an extra ace to use this week

Re: S1 - 20: Tour Championships, Madrid (YEC)

Profiles

Severine Bremond

Coach - Geoffrey91
Nationality - FRA
Rank - #1
Favourite Surface - Grass

W - Auckland, Gold Coast
RU - Wimbledon, Moscow
SF - Australian Open, New Haven, US Open

Severine began the season brightly and has played great throughout, and despite not having won a Slam, she's managed good results on all surfaces outside of clay, she's got a good lead in the race to end the season #1, but she will need to perform well this week to hang on to it.

***

Marion Bartoli

Coach - Alizé Molik
Nationality - FRA
Rank - #2
Favourite Surface - Clay

W - Amelia Island, Rome, Roland Garros
RU - N/A
SF - N/A

Marion was the undisputed Queen of clay, winning 3 titles and obliterating all her opposition, but she's struggled away from her best surface and has so far failed to take opportunity of her 3 aces indoors, still, she has one more chance to rectify that.

***

Ashley Harkleroad

Coach - tennisbuddy12
Nationality - USA
Rank - #3
Favourite Surface - Hard

W - US Open
RU - Auckland, Roland Garros, Quebec City
SF - N/A

Ashley surprised everyone by reaching the final at RG, and was even a surprise winner at the US Open, she's been extremely solid all season and produced a good run on all surfaces except grass, and with a final last week in Quebec, she should be confident ahead of the championships.

***

Tamarine Tanasugarn

Coach - KevRulz09
Nationality - THA
Rank - #4
Favourite Surface - Grass

W - Birmingham, Wimbledon
RU - Amelia Island, Eastbourne
SF - Cincinnati

Tamarine's highlight of the season was definitely the grass, which she dominated along with Mauresmo, in the end she picked up the Wimbledon title, and strong results at some other events have seen her safely to Madrid.

***

Michaella Krajicek

Coach - tenniswatcher88
Nationality - NED
Rank - #5
Favourite Surface - Hard

W - Cincinnati
RU - N/A
SF - Strasbourg, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, US Open

Misa began the season poorly, but some big wins on the clay gave her some confidence and she quicky found her way into the top 10, she's been particularly impressive at the majors, reaching the semis at the last 3 Slams, can she produce on the big stage yet again?

***

Anastasia Myskina

Coach - i.Like.Tennis
Nationality - RUS
Rank - #6
Favourite Surface - Indoor

W - N/A
RU - Rome, New Haven, US Open, Antwerp
SF - N/A

Nastya is our only qualifier that hasn't won a title, but a terrific end to the season has seen her grab a spot at this YEC, and with 4 aces the chances of her picking up her first title this week are better than good, The question is, can she hold her nerve?

***

Venus Williams

Coach - GracefulVenus
Nationality - USA
Rank - #7
Favourite Surface - Indoor

W - Sydney, Quebec City
RU - N/A
SF - Birmingham, Eastbourne, Moscow

Venus had it all to do to make the YEC when the indoor season began, but some gutsy performances, especially last week in Quebec, meant she made it through, she's got 4 aces like Myskina, and she'll be full of confidence after finally making it here.

***

Nathalie Dechy

Coach - Farina Elia Fan
Nationality - FRA
Rank - #8
Favourite Surface - Clay

W - Australian Open
RU - Strasbourg
SF - Gold Coast, Antwerp

Well look who we have dragging up the rear, it's only tour 'diva' Nathalie Dechy, Dechy began the season strongly by winning the Australian Open, but she let the win go to her head, and a spell in rehab allegedly followed, but she's got her game back on track (sort of) and could well be a danger this week.

Dechy is the clear favourite though Unless she tanks to go party with Rafa and co.

clear favourite If this was the same around of aces I would agree but indoors

But when Nathalie gets knocked out of round robin, you know there will be a valid reason - Watch this space, when the times comes.

Can't wait.Hope I can come up with good points

Film, a mirror of the society. A good half-and-half mix of indie & mainstream.

Aces, OOP, POTW and Profiles posted A little difference this week since this is the YEC, players will have the option of changing their points before the semis and the final, but not during RR play Good luck everyone

Nathalie strongly denies this claim and is going to sue the tour for every last penny unless they write a retraction, and offer her an extra ace this week.

I see what my buddies Lindsay and Britney have to put up with, when there are liars like you about
