Re: S1 - 4: Australian Open, Melbourne (GS)

Player Of The Week

Anastasia Myskina

Alright, I know I said in the Sydney thread that I'd give it to Safarova, but 5 aces really would make her almost impossible to beat Hope Lucie understands Instead the extra ace goes to Myskina, for making the quarter-finals in her debut event last week

Ivanovic * Kvitova * Serena

Preview

The Favourites

Severine goes in as the favourite after her successful rebound ace season, she really understands the game well, and knows when to attack and when to pull back, she has needed some luck to win some key matches, that would be my only concern with her, Venus, on the other hand, has a very impressive gameplan, it would take something special to beat her if she keeps up her current form, whilst rebound ace-specialist Safarova has used her 4 aces to great effect, and will be a tough prospect for anyone.

The Contenders

Anabel's ability to vary her game well is her strength, and she has been very consistent so far, but I'm not sure if she has enough killer shots to beat the other top players, Dementieva is one of the most aggressive players on the tour, and no-one will want to face her.

The Dark Horses

The Dangerous Floaters

The Mouthy Bitches

My prediction for who will win the title?

Good luck everyone

I can't believe you picked Mauresmo has a contender

I've done NOTHING so far?!

I know just--just what you are--ah-ah.

Re: S1 - 4: Australian Open, Melbourne (GS)

I can't believe you just put me in "Mouthy Bitches".

Dechy, let's takeover this tournament. Venus and Severine are getting taken to the cleaners, this is Amelie's Grand Slam. period.

I know just--just what you are--ah-ah.
