Re: 2014 National Team Indoors

Very tough match, but Florida survives Virginia 4-2, spurred on by a couple of first set TB wins and Cercone's 3-6 6-3 [10-6] come-from-behind win over Collins.

Meanwhile Northwestern looks set to upset Texas A&M (maybe Northwestern winning an indoor match shouldn't really be considered an upset, but this doesn't look like one of their strongest teams on paper).

Re: 2014 National Team Indoors

I left my computer on and returned to see the girls still practicing. It's 11:45pm. UNC has 2 doubles teams practicing on court#1 and UCLA has 2 doubles teams practicing on court#2. Listening to rap. What else is there to do in Virginia?

Are you sure that's UCLA? I see all 4 UNC doubles teams on those two courts.

I'm certain I saw Robin Anderson. Maybe it was another court that I was looking at.

Hi everybody. First time to post here. Miami Hurricanes fan living in Japan. ITA Indoors is one of my favorite tournaments and saw there was a good discussion going on for the tournament so went ahead and registered. Should be another interesting day.

Re: 2014 National Team Indoors

It's ridiculous they're pairing the quarterfinals together. That means half of the quarterfinals won't be live on video. Why couldn't they just have the same quarterfinals compete at the same time they did yesterday?

UCLA vs. USC will not be on video. In fact, none of the Pac-12 teams will be on video...3 of which made the quarterfinals, the most of any conference. Thank you ITA!

On the plus side, I won't be spending my afternoon next to my computer. =)

Couldn't agree with you more. Same schedule as yesterday with QTRs live would have been great.

I don't watch many Pac-12 matches and I was looking forward to watching USC v UCLA.

Duke/UNC should be a good one and Sunday's semis are looking good.

It's totally not cool. I understand the concept of video the top seeds, but #4 vs #5 means fix the schedule so that this match is on video too. Somebody at ITA certainly does not get it.

Re: 2014 National Team Indoors

UNC's practice last night happens to be at the same pace they are playing today (too slow).

Duke is going to runaway with the doubles point.

Duke grabs doubles point AND Scholl is in singles. Should be a comfortable win for Duke now...

Re: 2014 National Team Indoors

I was thinking Duke has something to prove this year, especially after all the setbacks last year.

Duke is leading at #1, #4, and #5. UNC tied the score at 1-1 with a win at #2.

UNC is leading #3 and #6.

BUT UNC is leading set#2 on #4 and Loeb isn't going to lose without a fight on #1.

Actually, I just notice that the consolation matches are being played at 9am and 6:30pm, so what they could have done is paired one of the consolation matches with one of the quarterfinal matches at each of the 4 time slots and provided video for all of the quarterfinal matches.

Yes, they could've just kept all the teams playing at the same time that they did yesterday. Then they could provide video for the teams that advanced to the quarterfinals.
