Re: Updates

#39 Long Beach St. def. #46 LSU 5-2

Wow some teams really struggle when they head west and play on faster hard courts.

But nice win for the Big West!

This helps UCI. If LBS can stay in the rankings that's one more ranked win for UCI when we beat Da Beach!

Re: New Big West - 2012-13

Just looked at the live scoring at Pepperdine.

Does Coach ch-EATER Edles have any ethics at all?

Gong has nice win at UCLA, moves # 3 with win vs LMU and then today he slides her right back to # 4 for no reason other than trying to MATCH UP in search of points.

THAT IS ILLEGAL.

JUST LIKE 2010, THE ch-EATER NEVER STOPS DOES HE?

Re: New Big West - 2012-13

Just back in town this weekend in time to watch the Beach Women whip butt twice...also nice to see that nothing thas changed at UCI, as Mr. Edles still knows how to cheat and stack his line-up like a good thing....will be sweet ,once again, when the Beach Ladies beat the ChEaters AGAIN.....

#65 UCI def. #33 Pepperdine 4-3

UCI's Kristina Smith and Franziska Goettsching upset the #4 nationally ranked doubles team of Guillermo and Issara to get UCI the doubles point. The Pepperdine duo had just defeated Stanford's Ahn and Gibbs on Saturday.

Re: Updates

The UCI win over Pepperdine was a HUGE win for the NEW Big West Conference. All Big West women's tennis fans should be proud.

Well maybe except bitter Long Beach St. fans who sound like they wanted their own conference team to lose to the WCC.

In other Big West news.

#40 St. Mary's def. Cal Poly 4-0

Doubles
1. Jullien/Flores (SMC) vs. McPike/Cornea (CP), 4-5 (unfinished)
2. Isip/Searl (SMC) def. Oxnevad/Webb (CP), 8-1

3. Frampton/Leitz (SMC) def. Kepler/Klavins (CP), 8-1

Singles
1. No. 64 Jenny Jullien (SMC) vs. Louise Oxnevad (CP) 6-0, 5-3, unfinished
2. Catherine Isip (SMC) def. Jennifer Cornea (CP) 6-0, 6-0

3. Danielle Flores (SMC) vs. Kathryn Webb (CP) 6-0, 5-2, unfinished

4. Jade Frampton (SMC) vs. Ane McPike (CP) 6-4, 1-2, unfinished
5. Catherine Leduc (SMC) def. Anna Klavins (CP) 6-0, 6-1
6. Audrey Leitz (SMC) def. Haley Kepler (CP) 6-2, 6-0

- Why is Cal Poly playing 2 walk-ons?
Are Sophia Bott, Alexa Lee and Gabrielle Gatewood missing for Cal Poly cuz of injuries, grades or discipline issues?

Re: Updates

Hey GOUCI, you might want to check Pepperdine's record before you get too giggly...0-4....lost three players from their squad last year and have several walk-ons now playing.....NOT THE PEPPERDINE of year's past, although the last time they played the Beach the Beach Ladies won....and that was a much better team that what they were left with when three left the team, two due to grades.....

Yeah the UCI coach was really stacking Sarah Gong at #4 singles explaining her 2-6,2-6 lost to LSU?

As usual Long Beach St. fans get it wrong and don't know what the hell they're talking about when it comes to UCI.

Playing back to back days is tough especially against 2 ranked teams. UCI showed heart by fighting back to win at #5 & #6 singles after losing the 1st set.

UCI's MVP of the season so far has to be Ali Facey!

- She beat the Clemson transfer to help UCI defeat #52 Tulane.
- She clinched the match for UCI in the win against #33 Pepperdine.
- Ali was down 2-4 in the 3rd set but came back to win 6-4 and beat #46 LSU.

You know the same Ali Facey that Long Beach St. didn't want. What a BIG MISTAKE, BIG, HUGE!!!

On the bright side LBS did pick up Anne-Sophie Willems and Hazuki Onaga.

The sister slid down the depth chart which sometimes happens when a player gets a boyfriend .

Distractions from having a boyfriend at school is something the foreign players at Long Beach St. probably don't have to worry about.
