Re: New Big West - 2012-13

:h aha:

You leave out the pertinent facts and differences: Dallara was a Jan arrival and complete unknown... AND she was [B]stuck behind three All Big West selections at 1-4... only weak at 5 & 6....

(In the BW Final, she beat your # 4 Fermin 6-3, 6-4)

You can argue with Beachman on the rest of this... time will tell but historically your coach sandbags.... both freshmen low and of course let us not forget Tranckino and the 'doubles specialist' Holladay.

I mean, Smith at # 6 in 2010... really? That order was #2, 1, 6, 5, 4, 3

Let's be honest. The real Beachman knows more about women's volleyball, baseball and basketball then he does about women's tennis.

I think Form is our board's version of Ronaiah Tuiasosopo (bottom right).

Ronaiah pretended to be Manti Teo's (top left) online girlfriend.

While Form has been pretending to be beachman49.

ITA Indoors

#67 UCI def. #55 Tulane 4-2

SINGLES
(1) Smith (UCI) def. Vyskocilova (TUL) - 6-3, 6-4
(2) Levy (TUL) def. Mamiit (UCI) - 6-4, 6-1
(3) Goettsching (UCI) def. Hois (TUL) - 6-3, 6-4
(4) Gong (UCI) def. Birol (TUL) - 5-7, 6-0, 6-3*
(5) Thornton (TUL) def. Kat Facey (UCI) - 7-5, 6-3
(6) Ali Facey (UCI) def. Magnusson (TUL) - 6-3, 0-6, 6-2

Order of finish: 5, 3, 1, 2, 6, 4*

- UCI's Goettsching defeated Wisconsin's former #1 singles Jenny Hois in straight sets at #3 singles while UCI's Gong at #4 singles had to win in 3 sets. That proves the UCI head coach was right to play Goetsching above Gong for this match.

Re: New Big West - 2012-13

Saw this a bit before heading to UCLA, Smith was playing very well, that's a huge upset. Will upload the #1 match on you tube. Magnusson also lost, that's two former Clemson players losing

Maybe Tulane was a bit unlucky for starting singles first, since they have good dbls players...but who knows. Congrats gouci!

Thanks for the classy congrats fantic.

Vyskocilova is ranked #118 nationally in singles so that was a big upset by Kristina Smith.

2. Hermon Brhane (OU) def. Martina Kostalova (UH) 6-1, 6-1

Re: Updates

#39 Long Beach St. def. Cal St. Fullerton 5-1

Singles Competition
1. Klaudia Malenovska (LBSU) def. Tiffany Mai (CSF) 6-2, 6-1
2. Morgan McIntosh (CSF) vs. Ebba Unden (LBSU), Unfinished
3. Sarah Cantlay (LBSU) def. Monica Rodriguez (CSF) 6-2, 6-0
4. Emilia Borkowski (CSF) def. Eva Rodriguez (LBSU) 6-4, 7-5
5. Anna Jeczmionka (LBSU) def. Megan Sandford (CSF), 6-2, 7-6
6. Karolina Rozenberg (LBSU) def. Malorie de la Cruz (CSF), 6-0, 6-3

Doubles Competition
1. Cantlay/Malenovska (LBSU) def. McIntosh/Kalika Slevcove (CSF), 8-3
2. Rozenberg/Unden (LBSU) def. Mai/Rodriguez (CSF), 8-5
3. Hazuki Onaga/Anne-Sophie Willems (LBSU) def. Borkowski/Sandford (CSF), 8-4

I wonder when was the last time Long Beach St. lost a point to Cal St. Fullerton?

Hey fantic you're knowledgeable about LBS so I have a question for you? What has Anna Jeczmionka done to jump over Karolina Rozenberg in the line-up?

- Rozenberg played the last 9 matches of last season at #6 singles for LBS while Jeczmionka sat on the bench.

- Rozenberg went 7-2 in the fall to Jeczmionka's 4-5 record.

- If Rozenberg was good enough to beat UCI's Sarah Gong who Form complains should be playing #2 singles for UCI, then maybe shouldn't Rozenberg be playing #2 for LBS rather than #6 behind bench warmer Jeczmionka?

- Looks like the Long Beach St. head coach stacked Karolina Rozenberg at #6 singles against UCR & CSF.

why mention me, can't really say

But I'm actually shocked that Eva lost, since I was very impressed with her play at SW R..

Re: Updates

fantic you are objective and knowledgeable here but even you can't really say why Rozenberg is playing at #6 singles.

That's my point! No one can justify Rozenberg playing at #6 singles.

Think about this. In 5 big matches to end last season, 3 in the Big West Tournament and 2 in the NCAA Tournament Rozenberg played just 1 spot behind Klaudia Malenovska. Now all of a sudden Rozenberg is playing 5 spots behind Malenovska??????

Playing Karolina Rozenberg at #6 singles is just a BLATANT STACK by the Long Beach St. head coach.

Re: Updates

LMU def. #39 Long Beach St. 4-3

1. Malenovska/Cantlay def. Jin/Razzeto (LMU) 8-4
2. Bisharat/Parravi (LMU) def. Unden/Rozenberg 8-6
3. Rohonyi/Kouyoumjian (LMU) def. Jeczmionka/Willems 8-6

1. April Bisharat (LMU) def. Malenovska 6-3,6-2
2. Parravi (LMU) def. Unden 6-1,7-5
3. Cantlay def. Razzeto (LMU) 6-4,6-1
4. Rodriguez def. Rohonyi (LMU) 6-3,6-1
5. Jin (LMU) def. Jeczmionka 6-2,6-1
6. Rozenberg def. Kristine Kouyoumjian (LMU) 6-3,6-4

Last season LMU lost to LBS 1-6. This season's LMU team is pretty much the same LMU team that went 4-15 last season.

Oh how far the mighty Long Beach St. have fallen!

One of the players Form hates the most is April Bisharat.
Form thinks Kristine Kouyoumjian is a big joke for all the team hopping she did.

It must be really hard for Form to stomach losing to both Bisharat and Kouyoumjian's team.

Re: New Big West - 2012-13

what Jin/Razzeto LOST? They were JKC finalist, beating the UCLA team..

UCI was VERY impressive today. Will write a recap later at my blog, but it really seems like the 'new' Big West At this rate UCI has a real chance to beat PEPP Other teams should step up.

Re: Updates

UCSB def. San Jose St. 4-3

- Good win by UCSB. Gaucho players seem very happy with their new coach in this meet the team video.

San Jose St. def. Cal Poly 5-2

- San Jose St. is much improved under the former Nevada coach. Still Cal Poly may have won this match if Sophia Bott had played.

#65 UCI def. LMU 7-0

2) Mamiit/Stadfelt (UCI) def. Bisharat/Parravi (LMU) – 8-6

3) Sarah Gong (UCI) def. Claudia Razzeto (LMU) – 6-3 6-1
4) Franziska Goettsching (UCI) def. Reka Rohonyi (LMU) – 6-3, 6-3
5) Ali Facey (UCI) def. Kristine Kouyoumjian (LMU) – 6-3, 3-6, (10-6)

Re: Updates

Let me get it out of my system.

By losing, #39 Long Beach St. provided LMU their biggest win over a ranked top 40 team in probably the last decade or two.

LMU was probably feeling confident, thought they had improved and can actually have a good team this season until UCI brought them crashing back down to reality.

LMU looked like the same team that went 4-15 last season is just Long Beach St. is worst than them this season.

One problem with the early team national rankings is how long it takes for them to adjust accurately and for undeserving teams to drop out.

Example. #39 Long Beach State is the MOST OVERRATED TEAM in the rankings and don't deserve to even be ranked.
