Am I the only one who hates seeing all top four Pac-12 schools in the same half? I'm not surprised by it based on the rankings but I prefer seeing different match-ups in the later rounds. I'm also worried for my Bruins because they will likely face Cal in the quarterfinals who I think UCLA doesn't match up well against. I'll post my picks later.

Exactly. It's boring :yawn: I wanted PAC 12 vs SEC/ACC showdowns :lol:

First Round correct picks receive 1 point(s)
Second Round correct picks receive 2 point(s)
Round of 16 correct picks receive 4 point(s)
Quarterfinals correct picks receive 8 point(s)
Semifinals correct picks receive 16 point(s)
Championship correct picks receive 32 point(s)

I really don't think this is fair :fiery: Shouldn't all choices weigh equal pts? Always didn't understand that method :lol:

Definitely the weakest 2 in the field. Still gotta play the match though... and then hello # 1.

Interesting the committee sent both E. Kentucky teams to UCLA... has that ever happened?

Maybe UCI should ask Arkansas for tips... or just get some BETTER PLAYERS :help::rolleyes::p..... how great a run could UCI tennis have been if LB were not in the league that last 12 years? :lol::scratch::happy::cheer::rolls::rocker:

so, since we're not actually putting out picks here we might as well write anything concerning the team championship, right?

About the Quarterfinal USC vs STAN

This might be the last time for a while non STAN team can win the championship, so the stakes could be high.

USC MUST WIND THE DBLS, and it's possible.

USC can win #1 & 3, hey let's say they can sweep all 3. Tan/Tsay lost to Oregon dbls at Ojai, so :devil:

SINGLES

1. ZOE VS GIBBS

Possible. If Zoe's serve works, possible. What's Zoe better than Gibbsy? Only serve and defense. So, utilize it. Oh, she's taller too, right?
So follow Amanda Fink's tactic which was successful against Barte at 2009 Ojai semi.
RELENTLESSLY ATTACK GIBBSY'S BH SIDE, SENDING HIGH BALLS FOR GOOD MEASURE.
I don't care how much Zoe gets hit winners by Nicole. Amanda was the same, yet she won.

2. STAN, Lao will be blown away.

3. Sabs vs Stacey;

Hmm, could be interesting, no? Sabs can hit hard too. But Stacey beat Juricova..will be
difficult.

4. KK vs Tsay

Last time KK lost easily to Tsay. Tsay will naturally come up to the net. Can KK pass her?

5. Li vs DeSimone/Pulido

Pulido beat Gabi to win the invite. What'll be the lineup? Curious.
Li hits harder, but D/P are more consistent.

6. Dillon vs D/P

A MUST win for USC.

--------
Now let's say Ahn plays at #4;

KK vs Ahn

Anything is fair in love and war and match :lol:
KK, move Ahn AROUND. RELENTLESSLY. Ahn decided to play, despite the ankle injury, so don't be soft against her. ATTACK. If Ahn is rusty, and can't move around fast, KK might actually have a chance :devil:

If Ahn plays at #5 and Gabi plays her, same scenario. Gabi can move the opponents around relentlessly, as shown in Ojai.

I think I accidentally entered the same bracket twice. Is there a way to delete one? Or can we enter as many times as we want? :devil:

Kind of a boring bracket overall, but it's definitely more open than I would've thought going into this season. I decided to take a flyer on Cal. Might as well live dangerously every once in a while :lol:

That's the spirit :yeah:

Why is Allie Will seeded #1.. should be Beatrice Capra
Allie actually beat Trice at WAATC, and moreover is the winner.
Trice won the Consolation at NIIC, not exactly a result for the #1 seed(lost to Ellis in MD)..
Moreover, she also lost to Anderson at the Team Indoors final.

Allie only lost to Gullickson.
And beat Gibbs.

During the Team competition;

Can the coach switch the lineup at will?

Like..can coach Thornquist play #1 as
Will vs Capra
Embree vs Gullickson
Embree vs Gibbs?

And, can we check how others predicted at that site Amal registered?

Also, can we submit different picks at the Main Pool & Private Pool which Amal created? I might pick STAN/UF as the winner at Main and USC at Private
:lol:

I have a free TRN acct, but can't log in on that site :confused: Do I have to make a separate acct to compete? Weird..

I wanted to have the rules and answers for questions like your lineup switch question. I found the 2011 Handbook, which says that lineup switches are not allowed. Google did not turn up this year's handbook.

Last year's handbook quote, (p21 it says)
The lineup for championship play is submitted to the referee at the mandatory
coaches meeting before the start of competition. The lineup must consist of:
• student-athletes listed on the official NCAA lineup form submitted not later than
Monday, May 2;
• a minimum of six players present and physically capable of competing; and
• a maximum of eight players, including any doubles specialists.
In singles competition, position Nos. 1-5 shall remain the same for the duration of the
championship. Position No. 6 may be filled with any of the three remaining players on
the lineup, and may change from match to match.

The student-athletes listed on a team’s lineup for the first round will remain the same
for the second round. Teams advancing to the championships finals site may change
the eight student-athletes on their lineup for the round of 16. The student-athletes
listed on a team’s lineup for the round of 16 will remain the same for the quarterfinals,
semifinals and finals. Any student-athlete listed on a lineup must have been listed on
the team’s original lineup form.
Lineups for the 64 teams selected to the championship will be posted on the NCAA’s
website (www.NCAA.org) 30 minutes after the completion of the selection show,
Tuesday, May 3.

Good question, a quick reading of the handbook makes me think that the 1&2 rounds, are considered different from the round of 16 onward. Here's the quote from the 2011 handbook.

The student-athletes listed on a team’s lineup for the first round will remain the same
for the second round. Teams advancing to the championships finals site may change
the eight student-athletes on their lineup for the round of 16.

semifinals and finals. Any student-athlete listed on a lineup must have been listed on
the team’s original lineup form.

Just want to complain about the boring INTRA-conference matchups :lol:

UCLA should be no.1 since they won team indoors and beat STAN.

What I don't understand is, why is STAN 'merely' #4? :lol:

They beat UF, surely are better than the Team Indoors Runner-Up Duke, yet they are
behind them.

Maybe it's their own undoing (conservative scheduling, and by losing to UCLA), but still,
it deprives us of a delightful prospect of INTER conference matchups before the final.

I'm sure SEC and ACC fans are grumbling the same thing. They meet their conference rivals again, before the final, how boring is that! :lol:

Another conspiracy theory;

Is it their 'scheme' to perpetuate STAN vs UF final? :lol:

Ugh, ignore my 3 entries. When editing, I pressed the wrong button (submit to pool and finish picks are 2 different buttons :eek: )
