I'm not surprised. I said in a post earlier in the season that she would be the most likely of the bunch to transfer. She'll be an important contributor elsewhere.

With Brady coming in next year, that will still leave one of the blue chips without much playing time. I see Courtney sticking to doubles only next year and Kaitlin playing singles.

1) Placing players in certain positions but never experimenting with moving them around based on their results and potential. Robin and Kyle deserved the top two spots but the other 4 should've been mixed up among Cat, Chanelle, Pam, Kaitlin, Courtney, and yes, even Skylar. Make those girls earn those spots. You don't give a player a top 3 position because they are a senior. You don't make a player play at 5 because they are a freshman. You don't let a player play at 4 because they had a good freshman season.

2) Doubles. It was never consistent throughout the season. Stella experimented with switching up the teams too late and therefore, ended up putting the original teams back together for the NCAA tournament.

3) Never inserting a once top 40 ITA-ranked player back into the lineup after she returned from her injury. Kaitlin Ray should've at least been playing #6 when she returned. Yes, she wasn't 100% but I'll take her over Courtney even when she's not 100%. Courtney did have wins at the 6th positions but she should be winning a majority of those matches.

Thank you to all of the players for a good season!
I think Ray may have reinjured herself. In the photos from the NCAA championships there is a girl with a boot on her left foot. She was blonde but she was facing away from the camera. It would have been interesting to see Dillon vs. Dolehide...would have loved it/been ironic if it came down to them.

This is a total wild guess but my money is on Duke. I believe the last two transfers from UCLA went to Duke (Bercek and Carlton). And we all know how Duke likes to get transfers

At this rate... don't they need them? Playing with only five players doesn't help when you are going for a national title...

NCAA.com article
Quote:
Nicole Gibbs knocked off the top-ranked player in the country with ease, beating Embree 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Gibbs has now knocked off both the No. 1 and No. 2-ranked players in the country in the tournament in straight sets, having beaten USC’s No. 2-ranked Sabrina Santamaria on Friday.

Nicole's uncle Leroy Jethro Gibbs must be proud.

Re: Pac 12

KK/Sabs only tied Barte and Mal's 4 slams wins, and they're not dominant like them, losing critical matches. But we'll see..

They underachieved in my opinion but yes, looking forward to next year! I hope Ray and everyone else will be healthy.

USC will be just as good next season and the two will have some fun battles.
