Re: NCAA 2010 TEAM predictions

Round of 16

(1) Baylor def. (16) Texas [These two just played in the Big 10 championships ]
(8) Stanford def. Georgia
(4) Michigan def. (13) Tennessee [Tennessee for the upset? ]
(12) California def. (5) Notre Dame [Is Notre Dame really that good?]

(11) Miami (FL) def. (6) Northwestern [Meh, we'll see ]
(3) Florida def. (14) Georgia Tech
(7) UCLA def. (10) Duke [Although UCLA will have a tough match against ASU]
(2) UNC def. (15) Florida St. [4-0 for UNC in the ACC tournament]

Quarterfinals
(8) Stanford def. (1) Baylor [Stanford wins the dubs point, and then who knows...]
(12) California def. (4) Michigan [I think Michigan is overrated ]

(11) Miami (FL) def. (3) Florida [ I can dream right?]
(2) UNC def. (7) UCLA [I was first thinking UNC loses, but now not sure...]

FINAL FOUR
(8) Stanford def. California (12)
(2) UNC def. (11) Miami (FL) [Ok, this half of the draw will most likely see Florida make it to the finals. But I don't want that ]

WINNER
Anyone but Florida or Baylor. Hopefully Stanford.

Serena Williams
Victoria Azarenka Venus Williams
Sloane Stephens Christina McHale

Not bad predictions but I think Georgia will give Stanford a run for their money, Notre Dame over Cal (Cal Over-rated)
I think Michigan over Tennessee. Michigan played them in a Fall tournament and handled them pretty well. Notre Dame against Michigan would be a good match going 4-3 either way.
I hate to say it but I think the Pac Ten is way over-rated this year outside of maybe UCLA and could see maybe only one of them in the elite eight this year. I know this forum is made up of mostly California posters but it's just my opinion!

1. I didn't think about it, but Georgia will have the home court and crowd, something they thrive on. You are right, could be a tough one.
2. What fall tournament? Sorry, I really don't know anything about Michigan's team (or ND -- leading to my Cal def. ND prediction)
3. I would be surprised if UCLA fell to Duke and if Stanford lost to Georgia. I think both these teams will make the elite 8. Perhaps Cal will lose to ND.

4. What is your finals prediction?

Re: NCAA 2010 TEAM predictions

I know johnnytennis's final prediction.

MICH wins it all, beating BU & UF by winning the doubles pt and sweeping the lower singles positions

Re: NCAA 2010 TEAM predictions

I don't see Georgia even making the final 16. They limp into the tourney on a 3 match losing streak and 4 of 5. Not the UGA we are accustomed to seeing.

Re: NCAA 2010 TEAM predictions

ND is a team that has lost to 3 top teams and has remained ranked at the top. Not sure how you can ask "Is Notre Dame really that good?" Do you think they are at the top because someone just likes them. I guess we will see how good they are. Go Irish!

Re: NCAA 2010 TEAM predictions

They very well could lose to Clemson. But not making it to Athens would be really killer for them. They will certainly fight tooth and nail to play on their home court.

Let me first study the draw for a while.

You do know which team I want to win it all anyway, so
