Re: What is your tennis rating?

By those extremely vague and (quite frankly) incorrect USTA guidelines, I appear to be a 4.5. However, as a junior, I don't get a USTA ranking yet. Still, I am competitive in singles with 3.5 men.

I'd say 5.25, honestly.

lol, thats exactly what i was thinking..... Ive run a tennis organization before and every year new people come in talkin about their "skill" level. we ask them to rate themselves and its really funny to see what they say......

I can hit every shot out there and i rate myself at a 4.0-4.5 when out of shape(like now) and a 4.5-5.0 when in shape.(hopefully in a month)

And my understanding of the ranking system is. 4-5 is a college club player. 5.5-6.0 is a college athlete. 6.0-up is a pro....

its a good rule to go down a level when you rank yourself on their system. plus of course and 4.5 women is not equal to a 4.5 male.

Re: What is your tennis rating?

this is such an odd way to measure yourself

I can handle any type of pace but can't make any of it for myself. I erratically slice, I overhit, and I have an inconsistent serve. But I can control the ball, volley and hit a great 1H Backhand.

So im like a a 4, a 4.5 and a 5. But also a mix of 3.5.
Huh?

Re: What is your tennis rating?

None of you will believe me because you are some serious pessimists, but I would say I am a 6.0. Playing competitive tennis since I was 8 with USTA rankings consistently in the top 25 nationally and playing top 25 college tennis next year.

Re: What is your tennis rating?

I smell some serious BS in here. Have you people claiming these ratings actually played USTA at these levels? Or are you just self-rating yourselves based on the written criteria?

Obviously people are just basing it off of the written criteria. You can't expect everyone here to be playing national tournaments...Also if your BS comment was directed at me, then it was not appreciated.
