Re: Describe your tennis game
I think I have am a quite a mixed player. I prefer to play very aggressively, but I can be on the defensive every now and again, but I don't like it too much.
My serve is appauling, despite my height (6'4"). Sometimes I can get some brilliant aces that are well placed and extremely powerful, but the majority of the time I just try ensure it goes in. If I land a really poor serve, I try come in to volley.
My forehand is a very good shot. I prefer hitting very flat shots, but I can use a hell of a lot of top spin or slice if I need to slow down. I also like hitting inside out forehands. However, when my forehand is off, it often lands long or wide. I try hit some sharp angles and I try to use a forehand dropshot a lot as it tricks my opponents a lot because power they except my forehand to go deep.
My backhand is my strongest shot when it's on. I can hit some very sharp angles, but I can go deep as well. When it's on, it's my favourite shot to hit. When it's off, it almost always lands in the net, so to avoid that I have to push the ball back into play I also use a double-handed backhand. I've mastered the backhand slice and drop shot, although I favour my forehand slices and drop shots. I can hit a few inside out backhands, however they're not as powerful.
My net game is strong. I can stretch as well as dive. I prefer the baseline though, but I feel comfortable at the net.
My smashes are good, but I'd rather hit a swing volley or regular forehand.
My footwork isn't great. I can run fast, and I can slide, but I can find myself falling over.
