2016-17 College Tennis Results and Discussion

I was going to make a thread for NIIC which started yesterday but it seems there isn't much interest around college tennis anymore (where's that rabid thing frantic when you need it?).

Figured we can just use this thread to discuss results and whatever else for this season.

Love to see these freshmen posting strong results in the majors, first Ena and now Meible. It's great to see Astra having a nice tournament too.

How interesting that 3/4 semifinalists are the same from Riviera. Sharma really cementing herself as one of the best players in college tennis right now.

I don't think it's that shocking. Shankle is an upperclass(wo)man I believe and her game is similar to Ena's in that they both have variety in their shots.

Just a totally ridiculous format. Di Lorenzo would have won anyway but that is just a perfect example of how broken the scoring system is.

No way she stays in college after this year, surely.

Has there ever been a player to jump from #6 to #1 in the line-up?

I think either Davidson or Doyle would do poorly at #1 and would be better at #3 and #4.

Perhaps Lord at #1 and Lampl at #2 would be appropriate based on their potential, especially as they both finished strong last year.
